UCC login portal down again - debtor name verification stuck
Been trying to access the UCC filing system since 6am to verify a debtor name match before our continuation deadline next week. The login portal keeps timing out or showing maintenance messages. This is the third time this month I've had issues getting into the system when I actually need it. Has anyone else been having trouble with UCC login access today? I'm getting nervous because we have a UCC-3 continuation due and I need to double-check the exact debtor name formatting from our original UCC-1. Last time I had a filing rejected because of a tiny difference in how the business name was entered (missing comma or something) and I can't afford that again with this deadline approaching.

Same issue here! Portal was working fine yesterday afternoon but completely frozen this morning. I've got two UCC-1 filings ready to submit and they're just sitting in draft status. The system says 'temporarily unavailable' but gives no timeline for when it'll be back up.

•I called the help desk around 8:30 - they said there's scheduled maintenance that was supposed to end at 7am but got extended. No ETA given of course.

•Typical. They never announce these things properly. Always happens when you actually need to file something important.

If you're worried about debtor name accuracy, I recently started using this document verification tool called Certana.ai that's been a lifesaver. You can upload your original UCC-1 and your draft UCC-3 continuation and it instantly cross-checks all the debtor information, filing numbers, everything to make sure they match perfectly. Saved me from a rejected filing last month when I caught a subtle name difference I would never have spotted manually.

•That actually sounds really useful. Is it just for name checking or does it verify other details too?

•It checks everything - debtor names, secured party info, filing numbers, collateral descriptions. Really thorough. Just upload the PDFs and it highlights any inconsistencies.

•How much does something like that cost? Sounds too good to be true honestly.

Portal access has been spotty all week. I managed to get in around 2pm yesterday but it was running super slow. For what it's worth, when you do get back in, check the exact formatting of your debtor name in the search results - sometimes there are extra spaces or punctuation that aren't obvious when you're just looking at your original filing.

•Good point about the spacing. That's exactly what I'm worried about. Do you know if there's a way to see the exact formatting without having to pull the full UCC-1 document?

•The search results usually show the debtor name exactly as filed, but yeah sometimes you need the full document to be 100% sure about punctuation and stuff.

This is exactly why I always print/save copies of everything immediately after filing. Can't rely on the portal being accessible when you need historical info. For your continuation, as long as the debtor name on your UCC-3 matches EXACTLY what's on the original UCC-1 (including any weird punctuation or spacing), you should be fine.

•Smart approach. I learned this the hard way when I needed to do an amendment and couldn't access the system for three days.

•Exactly! Always assume the portal will be down when you need it most. Murphy's Law of UCC filing.

•I keep digital copies in three different places now after getting burned by portal outages during deadline crunch time.

Just got through! Portal is back up as of about 10 minutes ago. Running a bit slow but at least it's loading. Might want to try again now.

•Thank you! Going to try logging in right now before it goes down again.

•Confirmed - just submitted my UCC-1 filings. Still running slower than usual but functional.

For future reference, you can usually call the UCC office directly if you just need to verify a debtor name from an existing filing. They can look it up over the phone and read you the exact formatting. Takes forever to get through sometimes but it's an option when the portal is down.

•I tried that once and waited on hold for 45 minutes. By the time they answered, the portal was back up!

•Ha! That's about right. But when you're up against a deadline, sometimes it's worth the hold time.

•Phone verification is good for simple stuff but if you need to see the actual document formatting, you still need portal access or the certified copies.

Been dealing with UCC filings for 8 years and portal outages are just part of the process unfortunately. Always build extra buffer time into your deadlines because something like this will happen at the worst possible moment.

•Truth. I now treat UCC deadlines like they're a week earlier than they actually are.

•Smart strategy. Better to file early and not stress about technical issues.

UPDATE: Portal is working fine now. I was able to pull up my UCC-1 and verify the debtor name for my continuation. Turns out I had been overthinking it - the name was formatted exactly like I remembered. Filed the UCC-3 continuation without any issues. Thanks everyone for the advice and the heads up about that document checking tool - definitely going to try that for my next filing to save myself the worry.

•Glad it worked out! The verification tool really does help with peace of mind on these filings.

•Great outcome. Portal issues are always stressful when you're on a deadline but sounds like you handled it well.

•Nice to see a success story! These threads usually end with people still stuck in technical problems.

For anyone else reading this thread later - another option when the portal is down is to check if they have a mobile version or alternate URL. Sometimes one works when the other doesn't. Also worth clearing your browser cache if you're getting weird login errors.

•Good tip about the cache clearing. I've had login issues that were just browser-related.

•Yeah, especially if you use the portal regularly. Sometimes stored credentials get corrupted.

This whole thread reminds me why I'm so paranoid about UCC deadline management. Between portal outages, name formatting issues, and all the other little things that can go wrong, it's amazing any of these filings get processed smoothly. At least we have forums like this to help each other out when problems come up.
