FAFSA submission button missing after 'review' section - urgent deadline May 2nd!
I've been battling with the FAFSA website for DAYS and I'm about to lose my mind! Everything is complete - both my section and my parents' info - but I'm stuck at the "take a moment to review" page. The instructions clearly say "select continue once you're ready to proceed with submission" but THERE'S NO CONTINUE BUTTON ANYWHERE?? I've tried everything - refreshed the page, used different browsers, logged out and back in, re-signed all signatures at least 15 times, even removed and re-added my school choices. Nothing works! My application is just stuck on "in progress" status and I can't find any way to actually submit it. My school's priority deadline is May 2nd (only 5 days away!) and I'm seriously panicking. Has anyone run into this glitch before? Any solutions??? This is for the 2025-2026 application if that matters.

Sounds like you're hitting the 'review page bug' that's been plaguing the new FAFSA system. I ran into this last month and discovered it's usually because of ONE incomplete field somewhere that the system doesn't clearly flag. Double check these three things specifically: 1. Parent contribution section - sometimes the signature doesn't properly record even if it looks complete 2. Check if ALL tax information sections show green checkmarks (not just the main ones) 3. Make sure your school list is showing as 100% complete If those all check out, try accessing the site between 1am-5am when server traffic is lowest. That fixed it for me!

•Thank you!! I just checked again and all sections show complete with green checkmarks, including the parent stuff. I'll try the middle-of-the-night trick tonight. So frustrating that they'd have such a serious bug right at the submission step!

i had THE EXACT same problem omg!! turns out for me the issue was actually related to my browser's pop-up blocker?? the continue button was trying to launch a pop-up window for the submission confirmation but my browser was blocking it. try disabling your pop-up blocker and then going through the review page again. worked for me after 3 days of wanting to throw my laptop out the window lol

•I never would have thought of that! Going to try this right now. I've been using Chrome - maybe that's the issue.

This happened to me and I discovered the issue was actually related to my parent's contributor status. Even though everything showed as complete, the system was confused because my parents are divorced and both tried to complete sections. I had to call the Federal Student Aid helpline to get it fixed. The problem is they're completely overwhelmed right now with the May deadline coming. I spent 3 hours on hold before getting disconnected twice. I eventually used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that held my place in the phone queue and called me when an agent was available. Saved me hours of waiting and the agent was able to manually push my application through. Check out their demo at https://youtu.be/TbC8dZQWYNQ to see how it works. Was definitely worth it to get my application unstuck.

•I'll check that out if I can't get it fixed tonight. The FSA phone line is impossible lately - I tried calling yesterday and gave up after an hour on hold. Thanks for the tip!

There are actually several technical issues that can cause this problem with the new FAFSA system. As a financial aid counselor, I've been seeing this issue frequently this year: 1. **Browser compatibility**: The site works best with Firefox or Edge. Chrome and Safari have known issues with the submission button. 2. **System flags**: Even when sections appear complete, the system sometimes flags inconsistencies in reported information. Common examples include: - Mismatches between reported income and tax return data - Household size inconsistencies - Missing middle initial in name fields that must exactly match SSA records 3. **Queue system**: During high-volume periods (like now), the system places applications in a submission queue that doesn't always display properly. Try using Firefox, and click the small "Application Status" link at the top of your dashboard. Sometimes the submission button appears there when it doesn't show on the review page. If that doesn't work, you'll need to contact FSA directly.

•Thank you for such a detailed explanation! I just checked my names and I did have my middle initial in some fields but not others - could that be it? Going to standardize all those fields and try Firefox.

•Yes, that could definitely be the issue. The new FAFSA system is extremely particular about name consistency. Make sure your name appears exactly the same way in all fields and matches your Social Security card precisely. Let us know if standardizing your name fields resolves the issue.

OMG THE FAFSA SYSTEM IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE THIS YEAR!!! 😡😡😡 I had the EXACT same problem and wasted WEEKS trying to fix it. Called their helpline 11 times and got disconnected EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is the govt literally preventing students from getting aid with their BROKEN SYSTEM. My counselor told me they've had thousands of complaints about this. So ridiculous that they roll out a "new improved" system that DOESN'T EVEN WORK!!! I ended up having to go to my financial aid office in person and they had to submit some kind of override request. Check if your school can do that for you?

•same. i think its all a conspiracy to reduce how many ppl get financial aid tbh

•I seriously wouldn't be surprised if that was part of it. I'll contact my school's financial aid office tomorrow morning. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey OP - any luck with the solutions people suggested? Did anything work for you?

•YES!! Problem solved! It was actually a combination of issues. I standardized my name fields like @financial_aid_counselor suggested, turned off Chrome's pop-up blocker, and then switched to Firefox. The continue button magically appeared! My application is now showing as "Processed" instead of "In Progress." Thanks everyone for your help - I was seriously about to have a breakdown over this.

my sister had this issue and it turned out she didn't complete the "additional financial information" section even though it didn't show as incomplete anywhere. check that section maybe? also does your SAI calculation show up anywhere? if not something is definitely still incomplete
