Need contact info for WA state representatives to help with stuck ESD claims - does anyone have this?
Hi everyone! My unemployment claim has been stuck in processing for 6 weeks now and I'm getting desperate. I've heard that contacting your state representatives can sometimes help push things along with ESD. Does anyone have the direct contact information (emails or phone numbers) for WA state reps who specifically help with unemployment issues? I'm in King County if that matters. I've tried calling ESD about 50 times but can never get through. Running out of options here! Thanks in advance for any help!

You need to find your specific district representatives based on your address. Go to app.leg.wa.gov/districtfinder and enter your address. It'll show you your State Senator and two House Representatives. All three can help with ESD issues. Email works better than calling in my experience - be sure to include your full name, claim ID, and a brief description of your situation. Include a phone number where they can reach you. Most offices respond within 2-3 business days.

•Thank you so much! I didn't realize there was a district finder tool. I'll look mine up right now and email all three of them. Should I attach any documentation or just explain my situation?

•That's so good to hear! Did you contact just one rep or all of them for your district? I'm willing to email anyone who might help at this point.

I had a similar issue back in January and found that using Claimyr actually worked faster than waiting for state reps to respond. It got me through to an actual ESD agent in about 30 minutes after I'd been trying for weeks. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Might be worth trying while you wait for your representatives to respond, especially since you've been waiting 6 weeks already.

•I've never heard of Claimyr before. Just checked out their site - does it really work? Might try this tomorrow morning if I can't get through using the regular ESD number again.

•Yeah, it worked for me and my roommate. They basically call ESD for you and then connect you when they get through. Saved me hours of redial hell. My claim was in adjudication for similar reasons and the ESD agent was able to push it through once I actually got to talk to someone.

As someone who works in constituent services (not for a WA rep, but similar role), here's some advice: Email is definitely better than calling. Include your claim ID, last 4 of SSN, date of birth, and a BRIEF timeline of your issue. Be specific about what you need help with - not just "my claim is stuck" but "I've been in adjudication for 6 weeks with no updates and need someone to review my claim." If possible, attach screenshots of your eServices account showing the issue. Representatives have direct lines to ESD liaisons who can push claims through faster.

•This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I'll make sure to be very specific about the timeline and exactly what's happening with my claim. Really appreciate the insider perspective.

•I'm sorry you had that experience. Response quality really varies by office. Some reps have dedicated staff for ESD issues while others don't. It's always worth trying multiple avenues. Which district are you in? Some offices are definitely better staffed than others.

One thing to note - even if contacting your representatives doesn't work immediately, you should still be filing your weekly claims during this waiting period! I learned this the hard way. Even though my claim was stuck in adjudication for 9 weeks, I still got paid for all those weeks once it was approved because I had filed my weekly claims on time. If you don't file them, you won't get paid for those weeks even if your claim is eventually approved. Keep trying both your representatives AND the ESD direct line. Sometimes persistence is the only thing that works with this system.

•Yes, I've been making sure to file every week! I did miss one week early on before I realized how important it was, but I've been religious about it since then. Thanks for the reminder though - super important point.

hey just wanted to share - I found my reps info on leg.wa.gov and emailed about my adjudication issues last month. got a call from esd within 48hrs! they actually apologized and said my account had a flag for identity verification that no one had reviewed! claim was approved the next day. definitely worth trying!

•That's amazing! Gives me hope. I just sent emails to my district representatives using the finder tool. Fingers crossed they can help move things along like they did for you.

I'm in a similar situation - claim stuck for 5 weeks now. Just wanted to add that if you're in King County, Representative Nicole Macri's office has been really responsive to ESD issues according to some folks in my neighborhood Facebook group. Her staff apparently has good connections with ESD liaisons. Also, don't forget to document everything - keep screenshots of your eServices account, save confirmation numbers from any calls you do get through on, and keep a log of dates/times you've tried calling. This documentation can be really helpful when you do get someone to help you. Hang in there!

•Thanks for mentioning Rep. Macri! I'm actually in her district so I'll definitely reach out to her office specifically. Great tip about documenting everything too - I've been taking screenshots but hadn't thought about keeping a call log. Starting that today. It's somewhat comforting to know I'm not the only one dealing with this nightmare, though I'm sorry you're going through it too. Hoping we both get some movement on our claims soon!

Just wanted to share some additional resources that might help! If your representatives don't respond quickly enough, you can also try contacting the Governor's office directly - they have a constituent services team that handles ESD issues. Email gov.inslee@gov.wa.gov or call 360-902-4111. Also, the WA State Ombuds office (ombuds.wa.gov) can sometimes help with state agency problems when other avenues fail. They're independent and can investigate if ESD isn't following proper procedures. I know it feels overwhelming having so many stuck claims right now, but keep pushing through all available channels. Document everything and don't give up! The system is broken but people do eventually get through it.

•Wow, I had no idea about the Governor's office and Ombuds options! This is exactly the kind of comprehensive list I was hoping for. I'm going to try the representatives first since several people have had success there, but it's really reassuring to know there are backup options if that doesn't work. Thank you for taking the time to share all these resources - this thread has been incredibly helpful and gives me hope that there are actually ways to get unstuck from ESD limbo!

I went through this exact same situation last year - 8 weeks stuck in adjudication! What finally worked for me was a combination approach: I emailed all three of my district reps (found through the leg.wa.gov finder tool mentioned above) AND used Claimyr to actually get through to ESD on the same day. The rep's office followed up a few days later, but Claimyr got me connected to an actual person who was able to see that my claim had been sitting in a queue with no action. Turned out to be a simple documentation issue that took 5 minutes to fix once someone actually looked at it. If you're desperate after 6 weeks, I'd definitely try both approaches simultaneously. Also make sure you're checking your eServices account daily - sometimes they request additional docs through there and if you miss it, your claim just sits indefinitely. Good luck!
