Need Governor's office contact number to expedite my stuck ESD adjudication - worked before!
I'm at my wit's end with ESD again! Back in November, my claim got stuck in adjudication for over 2 months. I eventually found a special number for someone at the Governor's office who was able to escalate my case and get it resolved within a week. Like an IDIOT, I didn't save the number anywhere thinking I wouldn't need it again. Well guess what? My claim is now stuck in adjudication AGAIN (different issue this time - they're questioning my availability for work because I had to turn down one interview due to childcare issues). It's been 3 weeks with zero movement. Does anyone remember or have that special Governor's office contact number that can help push ESD claims through? I'm seriously stressing as my savings are almost gone and my rent is due next week. I've tried calling the regular ESD line 43 times over the past week and either get disconnected or told the wait time is 4+ hours. Please help!

•Thanks - I didn't think about the ombudsman. Do you know how to contact them? Is there a separate number?

The number you're looking for is actually the Governor's Constituent Services line: (360) 902-4111. I used it in February when my standby status was incorrectly removed and nobody at ESD would help me. They took my information and had an ESD supervisor call me back within 48 hours. Just be prepared with your claim ID, the specific issue you're facing, and a clear timeline of when things went wrong. They can't help with the actual decision, but they can absolutely get your case in front of the right people at ESD. As for your availability issue - make sure you clarify that turning down one interview for childcare issues doesn't make you unavailable for work in general. I've seen many people get disqualified because they don't properly explain their specific circumstances.

•THANK YOU SO MUCH! That's exactly the number I needed. I'll call them tomorrow morning. Really appreciate the tip about being prepared with all my info too!

•I understand your frustration, but there are dedicated people at ESD trying to help. The system gets overwhelmed, especially when there are staff shortages. That said, reaching out to the Governor's office as mentioned above can be effective when you're stuck in adjudication too long.

Instead of waiting on hold for hours with ESD or even trying the Governor's office (which can take time too), you might want to try Claimyr. It's a service that gets you through to an ESD agent usually within 15-30 minutes instead of waiting for hours. I was skeptical at first but used it when my identity verification was stuck for weeks. You can see how it works in their demo video: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 Their website is claimyr.com - I found it super helpful when I absolutely needed to talk to a real person at ESD right away. Just another option if the Governor's office route doesn't work out quickly enough.

•Thanks for sharing this! I might try this if I can't get through with the Governor's office number. I need to resolve this ASAP and can't afford to wait weeks more.

Have you tried submitting an escalation request through your WorkSource office? I had a similar issue last month (adjudication for a different reason though) and my local WorkSource office submitted something called a "urgent escalation request" on my behalf. They have direct channels to ESD that regular claimants don't have access to. Might be worth trying while you're also pursuing the Governor's office route.

•I didn't know WorkSource could do that! There's one about 20 minutes from my house. I'll give them a call tomorrow as well. Really appreciate this tip!

Quick update for anyone following or who might be in a similar situation. I called the Governor's Constituent Services number this morning, and they took all my info. They said they'd submit an urgent inquiry to ESD on my behalf and I should hear something within 3-5 business days. I also called my local WorkSource office and they're submitting an escalation request too. Hoping between these two approaches, something will get my claim moving again. Will update when I hear anything!

•That's great! Using multiple channels is smart. In my experience, when your claim gets flagged from both the Governor's office AND WorkSource, it typically gets prioritized pretty quickly. The key thing will be making sure your explanation about the childcare situation is clear and documented. ESD needs to understand that one declined interview due to temporary childcare issues doesn't mean you're not available for work in general.

FINAL UPDATE: Success! Less than 48 hours after contacting the Governor's office, I got a call from an ESD supervisor. She reviewed my case on the phone with me, I explained the childcare situation (it was a one-time emergency when my sister couldn't watch my kids), and she immediately cleared the adjudication flag! My status is now active again and I should receive back payments within 48 hours. THANK YOU to everyone who offered advice, especially about the Governor's Constituent Services number. That was the key to getting this resolved quickly!
