ESD website showing wrong employer during weekly claim - can't file because of system error
I'm banging my head against the wall trying to file my weekly claim! The ESD system is showing I worked for TempForce Labor (a day labor company) during the week of 01/12-01/18/2025, but that's completely wrong. I haven't worked for them since 12/26/2024! Because of this error, the system keeps rejecting my weekly claim submission and I can't get my benefits for this week. Every time I try to submit the correct information (that I didn't work that week), it bounces back with an error saying my information conflicts with employer records. Has anyone dealt with this kind of system error before? Is there any way to override this or submit my claim without having to wait hours on the phone tomorrow? I'm worried about missing the filing deadline and losing a week of benefits because of THEIR mistake!

Ugh, this exact thing happened to me last month! The system showed I worked for a company I'd never even heard of. Unfortunately, there's no way to bypass this in the online system because it's flagging what it thinks is fraud (you saying you didn't work somewhere when their records show you did). You'll have to call them to get it fixed. When you call, ask them to document that this is a system error so it doesn't happen again next week.

•Thanks for confirming. Ugh, I was afraid of that. Did they fix it quickly once you got through to someone? I'm so worried about missing the deadline!

This is a data matching issue in the ESD system. What's happening is that TempForce probably submitted quarterly wage data that incorrectly included you for that period, and the system automatically flags these discrepancies. The good news is that you can still get your benefits, but you need to speak with an ESD agent to clear the error. Make sure you have documentation showing your last day worked (like a final paystub or termination letter). When you call, ask specifically for them to remove the incorrect employment data for that week. They can override it on their end.

•Thank you! I'll dig up my last paystub from them right now so I have it ready. Do you know if they'll be able to backdate my claim once they fix the error? I'm worried because tomorrow is already the last day to file for last week.

•Please don't do this! If you knowingly submit incorrect information on your weekly claim, even to match the system's error, it could be considered fraud. You would likely have to pay back any benefits received plus penalties. Always report accurate information and contact ESD to resolve errors.

I wasted THREE ENTIRE DAYS trying to reach someone at ESD when something similar happened to me. Their phone system is a nightmare - I kept getting disconnected or put on hold for hours only to have the call drop. Finally I discovered Claimyr and it literally saved my sanity. It's a service that helps you get through to an actual ESD agent without the endless holds. Check out their website at claimyr.com or see how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Worth every penny because I got through in about 20 minutes instead of days of trying.

•I've never heard of this before! Does it actually work? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.

•Yes, it worked for me! The service basically navigates ESD's phone tree for you and holds your place in line. Then they call you when they've reached an agent. Definitely saved me days of frustration.

THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN BY DESIGN!!! They do this ALL THE TIME to deny people benefits and save $$$$. My cousin had the exact issue - system showed him working at a place he'd quit 2 months earlier!!! He called 47 TIMES before getting through and then they acted like it was HIS fault for not "updating his employment status" even though he HAD!!! The state doesn't want to pay you what you're owed - that's the REAL truth no one talks about!!!

•I don't think it's intentional. The system just doesn't handle data errors well. Most employers report wages quarterly, so there's often a delay in processing that info. But I agree it's super frustrating!

You can also try using the Message Center in your eServices account to report the error. Sometimes that's faster than calling. Take screenshots of the error message and attach them to your message. Be sure to clearly explain that the employer information is incorrect and provide the correct dates you worked there. While you're waiting for a response, keep attempting to file your weekly claim each day so there's a record of you trying before the deadline.

•Great idea! I just sent a detailed message through the Message Center with screenshots and my last paystub attached. Fingers crossed they respond quickly. I'll keep trying to file daily too.

Quick update on what happened after I called for my similar issue: the agent told me it was because TempForce (ironically I had the same company!) had submitted their quarterly report late and included me in the wrong period. The agent was able to override it while on the phone and I could file my weekly claim right away. The whole call took about 25 minutes once I actually got through to a person.

•That's really helpful to know! Weird it's the same company too. Sounds like they have some reporting issues. I'm going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning.

Just to ease your mind about the deadline - even if you can't resolve this by the weekly claim deadline, ESD can and will backdate your claim once the error is fixed. Make sure you document all your attempts to file (screenshots of errors, etc.). The key is to keep trying to file and to contact them about the issue before the deadline passes. That way they can see you made a good faith effort to file on time.

UPDATE: Finally got this resolved! I used the Claimyr service that someone recommended here, and it actually worked! Got through to an agent in about 30 minutes. She confirmed TempForce had submitted incorrect quarterly wage data that included me in January even though I stopped working there in December. She removed the error and I was able to file my weekly claim while still on the phone with her. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

•That's great! Glad you got it fixed before the deadline. Smart to keep documentation too, in case it somehow happens again next week.
