ESD claim adjudication success - called Governor's office and got approved in 24 hours!
Just wanted to share a success story that might help others stuck in adjudication hell! My UI claim was sitting in adjudication for almost 5 weeks with zero updates. I was getting desperate since my savings were almost gone ($4,300 down to $780). After trying the regular ESD phone number 30+ times and getting nowhere, I decided to call the Governor's office Friday morning. The person I spoke with was super nice and said they'd try to expedite things, but no promises. Literally ONE HOUR later I got a notification that an adjudicator was reviewing my case! Then yesterday afternoon I got the approval, and this morning $1,875 was in my account. If you've been waiting forever, try contacting the Governor's office - it actually worked! Anyone else have success with this approach?

This is definitely one strategy that can work, but it's not guaranteed for everyone. The Governor's office can submit an escalation request, but they're prioritizing based on financial hardship and how long you've been waiting. Glad it worked out for you! For others reading this, remember you should also keep filing your weekly claims while in adjudication, and make sure your job search activities are being logged properly (3 activities per week). Missing any weekly claims during adjudication can further complicate your case.

You're right - I should have mentioned I kept filing every week religiously. One question though - I got paid for 4 weeks but I was waiting for 5. Should I contact ESD about that missing week or just be happy with what I got?

Wow seriously? When I called the govs office they gave me some stupid speech about how they couldnt interfere with ESD operations. Was this the main office number or did you call some specific person there? My claim has been stuck since march 4th and im about to lose my apartment

I called the main constituent services line (360-902-4111). The key is being super specific about your financial hardship and how long you've been waiting. Maybe I just got lucky with who answered? Definitely worth trying again - I hope you get some movement soon! Being about to lose your apartment is exactly the kind of urgent situation they should help with.

I had a similar experience but with my state representative instead of the Governor's office. After 7 weeks in adjudication, I contacted my district rep, and within 3 days my claim was processed. They have liaisons that work directly with ESD's escalation team. The key is documenting everything - dates you've called ESD, confirmation numbers from those calls, and exactly what information you've already provided to them. This makes it easier for the representative's office to effectively advocate for you.\n\nBTW - check if you're eligible for back pay for that 5th week. Sometimes they split payments if there were different issues they needed to resolve.

Using legislative assistance is a smart approach. When claimants contact their representatives, it creates accountability within the system. Just know that representatives can't override adjudication decisions - they can only help expedite the review process.\n\nRegarding the missing week payment: check your ESD account under

Thank you! I just checked and that 5th week shows as 'Disqualified - Able and Available' which makes no sense because nothing changed in my situation. Guess I'm filing an appeal...

If calling the governor's office didn't work for you or isn't your style, I found an alternative that worked for me. I used a service called Claimyr to get through to an actual ESD agent after weeks of busy signals and disconnections. It cost me some money, but the peace of mind was worth it. Their system basically keeps dialing for you and gets you in the queue. Got through in about 45 minutes when I'd spent DAYS trying on my own. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and the website is claimyr.com. The agent I spoke with was able to add notes to my claim that helped get it moving.

is that even legal? sounds sketchy paying someone to call esd for you

They don't call FOR you - they just get you through the phone system and into the ESD queue. Once you're connected, you talk directly with the ESD agent yourself. It's basically just solving the problem of constantly getting busy signals or disconnected.

CONGRATS! I've been in adjudication for 9 freaking weeks now and tried everything. My question is did you just call and say you were having problems with ESD or did you have to know someone special?? I've called ESD like 50+ times and either get hung up on or told \

I didn't know anyone special. I just called the main constituent services number and explained 1) exactly how long I'd been waiting, 2) my specific financial situation with actual numbers, and 3) that I'd already tried all the normal ESD contact methods multiple times. I was polite but made it clear I was in a desperate situation. Really hope you get movement on your claim soon!

Just wanted to update - I tried calling the governor's office again this morning after seeing this post and got a different person who was actually helpful! They took down all my info and said they'd submit an urgent inquiry. Fingers crossed it works like it did for you!

This is a good reminder about the escalation options available to claimants. Just to clarify the process for everyone:\n\n1) Always start with direct ESD contact methods (phone, eServices messages)\n2) If unsuccessful after multiple attempts, document all your contact attempts (dates, times, reference numbers)\n3) Contact options include:\n - Governor's Office constituent services\n - Your state representative/senator\n - ESD Ombuds Office (for complex cases)\n\nThe key factor that often triggers expedited review is demonstrable financial hardship (eviction risk, inability to afford essentials, medical needs). Be specific about these issues when requesting assistance.\n\nFor the original poster: regarding your \

ESD doesn't track unsuccessful call attempts, which is why documentation on your end is important. For escalation purposes, I generally recommend:\n\n- At least 8-10 documented call attempts over 2+ weeks\n- 2-3 messages sent through eServices with no response after 7+ days\n- Waiting at least 3-4 weeks in adjudication before seeking outside assistance\n\nHowever, if you're facing immediate financial crisis (eviction, utilities shutoff, inability to afford medication), you shouldn't wait that long before seeking escalation help.

This gives me hope! I've been stuck in adjudication for 6 weeks and my case seems to have just disappeared into the void. I keep getting told "it's under review" with no timeline. My rent is due in 10 days and I'm down to my last $200. Quick question - when you called the Governor's office, did you need to provide your claim number or any specific details beyond just explaining your situation? And did they give you any kind of reference number or confirmation that they submitted your case for escalation? I'm definitely going to try this approach tomorrow morning. Thanks for sharing your success story - sometimes you need to hear that it's actually possible to get through this nightmare!
