Calling governor's office fixed my 7-week ESD adjudication nightmare
I can't believe I'm finally posting some GOOD news! After 7 weeks of absolute silence from ESD with my claim stuck in adjudication, I finally got through to someone who could help. Called the governor's constituent services line yesterday morning (I was desperate!), explained my situation calmly but made it clear I was facing eviction next week if this didn't get resolved. The woman I spoke with took my info and said she'd forward it to the ESD escalation team. I honestly didn't expect much, but checked my account this morning and BOOM - claim approved and deposit scheduled for tonight!! After 7 weeks of nothing! I legit cried at my kitchen table. For anyone else stuck in ESD limbo, try the governor's office - it worked when NOTHING else did. Just wanted to share some hope since this forum helped me so much during my unemployment nightmare.

This gives me so much hope!!! Been stuck in adjudication for 5 weeks and starting to panic. Can you share the actual phone # you called? Was it hard to get through?

•The number I called was 360-902-4111. I had to wait on hold for about 15 minutes but not terrible. Just be prepared with your claim ID and the dates you've been waiting. Good luck!

LOL of COURSE they approved it right after you contacted the governor! ESD only moves when they're embarrased by higher-ups. I waited 11 WEEKS last year until I finally had my state rep contact them. Suddenly approved within 48 hrs! The system is completely broken!!

•seriously tho... why do we have to go through all these hoops?? I sent like 6 messages through eServices and called like 50+ times. crickets. but one email to my state senator and magically things start happening? makes me think the whole system is just designed to make people give up :/

Glad you finally got it resolved! The governor's office approach works because they have direct escalation channels to ESD leadership. For anyone else stuck in adjudication, remember you have multiple options: 1. Governor's office (as OP mentioned) 2. Your state representative/senator 3. ESD's Office of Constituent Services One thing I always recommend before escalating - make sure you've checked your ESD account for any alerts or document requests. Sometimes claims stall because they need additional verification documents but the notification gets missed.

•I've checked my account daily and there's literally nothing flagged or any requests. Just says "adjudication in progress" for 5 weeks with no explanation. So frustrating!

I've been trying to call ESD for 3 weeks about my adjudication issue and can't get through to anyone. If anyone needs an easier way to reach ESD by phone, I recently discovered Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they have a system that basically calls ESD for you and connects you when they get through to an agent. Saved me hours of redial hell! They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 that shows how it works. I was skeptical but it actually got me through to a real person after weeks of trying on my own.

•It worked for me! Took about 45 minutes instead of days of redialing. The agent I spoke with actually fixed my issue too. Way less stressful than constantly hitting redial.

my neighbor used to work at esd. she told me they have internal targets for how quickly they process claims. when someone from the governors office contacts them, that claim gets flagged as a priority. not fair but thats how the system works i guess

•EXACTLY! The system is designed to wear people down until they give up. That's why they make it impossible to reach anyone. They're COUNTING on people not knowing their rights or how to escalate!

Congrats on getting it resolved! One important thing to note though - calling the governor's office should really be a last resort after you've tried other methods. Most adjudication issues get resolved within 3-4 weeks through the normal process, especially if it's a standard employer verification or job separation issue. But if you're approaching 5+ weeks with no movement, then escalation makes sense. A few tips for others in adjudication: 1. Make sure your phone contact info is up-to-date in your ESD account 2. Check your spam folder daily for emails from ESD 3. Respond to ANY requests for information immediately 4. Keep filing your weekly claims even while in adjudication And yes, if all else fails, the governor's office can help!

•All good points. I definitely tried everything else first - calling ESD directly (50+ times), sending messages through eServices (7 of them), checking my spam folder religiously, etc. The governor's office was absolutely a last resort, but I wish I'd done it sooner instead of waiting until I was about to lose my apartment!

I just tried calling the governor's office and they took all my info! The woman was really nice and said she'd send it to her ESD contact. Fingers crossed it works as well for me as it did for you! Will update if anything changes.

•I thought about contacting my state rep too, but the governor's office was just the first number I found when I was desperately searching online. Glad your rep was able to help you!
