If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more thing - if you have any kind of severance agreement or non-compete clause, make sure it doesn't affect your ability to work. Washington ESD will consider that when determining if you're available for work.

Good point. I do have a non-compete but it's pretty narrow in scope.

As long as it doesn't prevent you from taking most jobs in your field, you should be okay. But be prepared to explain it if they ask.

Final advice - if you do get denied and need to appeal, don't wait. You only have 30 days from the date of the determination letter. And if you need help understanding the process or getting through to someone at Washington ESD, check out claimyr.com. Sometimes talking to an actual person can clear up issues that seem impossible to resolve online.

Thanks everyone. This thread has been way more helpful than the Washington ESD website. I feel like I actually understand what I'm getting into now.

Good luck! File as soon as you're eligible and don't let the process intimidate you. Most people who qualify do get approved eventually.

Just remember that unemployment is insurance you and your employers have been paying into. Don't feel bad about using it if you need it - that's what it's there for!

0 coins

Thanks for saying that. I do sometimes feel guilty about even considering it.

0 coins

Absolutely! It's a safety net that exists for exactly these situations. You've earned the right to use it.

0 coins

For anyone else reading this thread - if you're worried about eligibility, you can always file a claim and let Washington ESD make the determination. There's no penalty for filing if you don't qualify, they'll just deny the claim.

0 coins

That's good to know. Takes some of the pressure off trying to figure it out beforehand.

0 coins

Exactly! Better to file and find out than to assume you don't qualify and miss out on benefits you're entitled to.

Final thought - even if the process is challenging, don't let that discourage you from filing if you genuinely had good cause to quit. The benefits are there for situations exactly like yours, and Washington ESD does approve these claims when the evidence supports it.

Thanks to everyone who shared advice and experiences. I'm feeling much more confident about moving forward with my claim.

Update us on how it goes! Always helpful to hear real experiences with the Washington ESD good cause process.

0 coins

I definitely will. Going to file this week and document everything along the way.

0 coins

thanks everyone for all the helpful info! this thread answered all my questions about collecting both benefits

0 coins

Same here! Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences.

One more tip - if you do need to contact Washington ESD about this or any other questions, that Claimyr service really does work. I was skeptical at first but it saved me hours of frustration trying to get through on the phone.

0 coins

I'll definitely keep that in mind if I run into issues. Thanks for the recommendation!

No problem! Good luck with your claim.

Another option for getting quick answers is using Claimyr when you need to talk to Washington ESD directly. I was stuck on whether my freelance work would affect my benefits and needed to speak with someone who could look at my specific situation. Way better than playing phone tag for days.

0 coins

Did they help you figure out how freelance income affects benefits? That's my exact situation right now.

0 coins

Yes! They explained that you report freelance earnings in the week you actually get paid, not when you do the work. Makes a big difference for benefit calculations.

0 coins

The income requirements can be tricky. You need wages in at least 2 quarters AND total wages of at least $3,850 in your base period. But there's also a second test where your wages in your highest quarter need to be at least 1.5 times your wages in another quarter. Most people meet this but it's good to know about.

The Washington ESD website has the details but it's pretty dense. Sometimes talking to an actual person helps make sense of it all.

This thread has been incredibly helpful. I feel like I actually understand the process now instead of being completely lost!
