Two weeks is still within normal range, but I understand the anxiety. The uncertainty is almost worse than knowing it's denied because at least then you could appeal or figure out next steps.
Just want to add that if you're concerned about your specific ESD claim or need to discuss how economic conditions might affect your benefits, definitely try to speak with an agent. The phone system is awful but services like Claimyr can help you actually get through.
To directly answer your original question: Fed policy to reverse supply shock unemployment effects typically involves stimulus measures that should eventually help job creation, but won't change your Washington ESD benefits or claim processing.
UPDATE: Just checked my account and my claim was approved! Employer must have either not responded or didn't contest. First payment should come this week. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!
The system is slow but it generally works. If you're really concerned about timeline, document everything and be prepared to appeal if necessary. Most claims do get approved eventually.
Thanks for all the advice everyone! I feel much better about the process now. I'll keep filing weekly and hope for the best.
Good luck! And remember if you need to actually talk to someone at ESD, Claimyr is there as an option to cut through the phone queue nightmare.
Pro tip: set up direct deposit if you haven't already. Getting paper checks in the mail can delay your payments and you don't want to lose any time during those 26 weeks.
I'm on week 15 of my claim and starting to feel the pressure. Job market is tougher than I expected when I first filed. 26 weeks seemed like plenty of time but it's going fast.

Bottom line - the system sucks and they make it way too hard to get help. But keep trying different times and days. Eventually you'll get through. Or use that service someone mentioned if you want to skip the hassle.

•Thanks everyone for all the advice. I'll try calling Tuesday at 8am and if that doesn't work I'll look into Claimyr.

One more thing - if you do get disconnected while on hold, sometimes you can call back within a few minutes and they'll put you back in the queue without starting over. Doesn't always work but worth a try.

•Interesting! I'll keep that in mind if it happens to me.
