Thanks everyone for all the helpful info in this thread. I feel much more confident about handling my unemployment benefits on my taxes now. Going to look for that 1099-G in my SAW account right after I post this.
Final update from OP: Found my 1099-G in the correspondence section! Total benefits were $11,200 for the year. Now I need to figure out how much I'm going to owe in taxes. Thanks to everyone who helped point me in the right direction. This forum is a lifesaver for navigating the Washington ESD system.
Hope this thread helped answer your question OP! The benefit calculation can seem confusing at first but it's pretty straightforward once you understand the formula. Good luck with your situation.
For anyone else reading this later - remember that benefit amounts and maximums can change year to year, so always check the current Washington ESD website for the most up to date numbers. The $999 maximum mentioned here is for 2025.
Remember that unemployment benefits are taxable income, so you might want to have taxes withheld from your payments to avoid a big tax bill next year.
Last thing - if you do any part-time work while collecting unemployment, make sure you report it on your weekly claim. You can usually still get some benefits as long as you report the income correctly.
For anyone still struggling to reach Washington ESD about eligibility questions, I'll mention Claimyr one more time. I know I've brought it up before but it really helped me get my questions answered when I couldn't get through on my own. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to understand your specific situation.
This has been a really informative thread. I think the key takeaways for Washington ESD eligibility are: meet the wage requirements, be unemployed through no fault of your own, be able and available for work, register with WorkSource, and actively search for jobs. Anything I'm missing?

•No problem! Glad it helped someone else too. That's what these forums are for right?

Last thought - even if the math seems confusing, Washington ESD's computer system will calculate everything automatically when you apply. You just need to provide accurate employment information and let the system do the work

•Exactly! Don't let the complexity scare you away from applying if you need benefits. The worst they can say is no.

•That's reassuring. I was getting overwhelmed by all the quarters and wage calculations but if the system does it automatically that's much easier.
