For anyone still reading this - yes it's Wednesday, yes it's consistent, and yes you'll get used to the routine. Been on UI for 8 months now and Wednesday deposit is as reliable as clockwork.
8 months?? Hope your job search goes better soon
Thanks, the market is tough but I'm staying positive. At least the unemployment payments are reliable!
Update: Just wanted to thank everyone for the help! My payment showed up this morning (Wednesday) just like you all said it would. Feel much better knowing what to expect going forward.
welcome to the wednesday club! 🎉
Nice! Always good to hear success stories, makes the rest of us feel better about the system
For anyone still struggling to reach Washington ESD by phone about injury-related claims, I finally got through using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Took less than 30 minutes total and the agent was able to answer all my questions about collecting benefits with work restrictions. Worth every penny to avoid the phone tree nightmare.
How much does Claimyr cost? I'm getting desperate to talk to someone at Washington ESD.
I don't remember the exact amount but it was reasonable considering how much time and frustration it saved me. Check their website at claimyr.com for current pricing.
Just want to add that timing matters when filing with an injury. Don't wait too long thinking you need to be 100% healed first. File as soon as you're laid off or lose work due to the injury. You can always update Washington ESD if your medical situation changes, but you can't backdate benefits you should have been collecting.
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I was waiting to see if my back would get better quickly but I should just file now.
Absolutely file now. The worst thing that happens is they say no, but more likely they'll approve you and you'll have income while you recover and job search.
Just remember that even if your claim gets approved, it might take a few weeks for the first payment to come through. Plan accordingly and don't expect money immediately.
Usually 1-2 weeks after your first weekly claim certification is processed
One last thing - keep copies of everything. Your termination paperwork, any emails about the safety complaint, your unemployment application, everything. You never know what you might need later if there are complications.
Just to be clear for anyone reading this - you can appeal Washington ESD decisions for reasons like: wrong separation reason reported by employer, employer retaliation, constructive dismissal (forced to quit), medical issues that prevented work, domestic violence situations, or if you quit for good cause. The key is having documentation.
Update us on how your appeal goes! I think with that budget cut email evidence you should have a strong case. Washington ESD appeals are intimidating but they're there to protect workers from exactly this kind of employer misreporting.

Just remember to keep filing your weekly claims continuously and maintain your job search activities. The transition between benefit years should be seamless if you do everything right.

Hope this thread helps other people too. The unemployment system is confusing enough without having to figure everything out alone.
