If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I had trouble with the Washington ESD phone lines too when I needed to ask about my claim timing. Finally got through using Claimyr after reading about it in another forum. The agent was able to confirm everything about when benefits would start based on my filing date.

I might need to try that. Been trying to reach them for days with questions about my situation.

Definitely check out their website at claimyr.com. They have a video demo that explains exactly how it works.

Bottom line for anyone reading this thread: file your Washington ESD unemployment claim immediately after losing your job. Don't wait for paperwork, don't wait for your final check, don't wait to see if you'll find a new job quickly. Just file online right away.

This should be stickied at the top of the forum. Would save people a lot of confusion and potentially lost benefits.

Agree completely. This thread answered all my questions about timing. Filing my claim now!

I'm actually a former Washington ESD employee and I can tell you that the appeals process, while slow, is generally fair. The administrative law judges are independent and don't have quotas or pressure to deny claims. If you were wrongly denied, you have a good shot at winning if you present your case well.

0 coins

That's actually reassuring to hear from someone who worked there. Any insider tips for presenting a strong case?

0 coins

Be organized, stick to relevant facts, and don't get personal or emotional about your employer. The judge wants to know what happened, not how you feel about it. Also, if you have witnesses who can support your version of events, mention that during the hearing.

Thanks everyone for all this info. I'm feeling a bit more confident about filing my appeal now. Still nervous about the hearing but at least I know what to expect. Going to start gathering my documentation today.

And if you need to talk to Washington ESD about anything related to your case, seriously consider using Claimyr. Saved me so much frustration and actually got the answers I needed to prepare properly.

I'll definitely look into that. Thanks again everyone - this thread has been incredibly helpful!

I know this doesn't help with the timing question, but make sure you're claiming all the benefits you're entitled to. Some people miss out on things like the dependent allowance if they have kids.

0 coins

I don't have kids but good point for others reading this. Every little bit helps.

0 coins

Exactly, and if you're doing any part-time work, make sure you're reporting it correctly so you still get partial benefits.

Bottom line - don't count on any increases until the regular legislative session next year at the earliest. Focus on job searching and making the current benefits stretch as far as possible.

0 coins

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. Thanks everyone for the info and suggestions!

Good luck with the job search! At least we got some clear answers about how the system works.

I went through the PFML application process last year and it was pretty straightforward once I understood what was needed. The hardest part was just figuring out initially that PFML was the right program, not unemployment.

0 coins

How long did it take to get approved and start receiving benefits?

0 coins

It took about 3 weeks from application to first payment, but that was pretty typical. Some people get approved faster, some take longer depending on their situation.

Just to wrap this up for anyone reading - if you're planning maternity leave in Washington State, apply for Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), not unemployment insurance. PFML is specifically designed for family and medical leave situations and provides better benefits than UI would anyway.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I feel much more confident about the process now.

You're welcome! Good luck with everything and congratulations on your upcoming arrival!

Glad we could help! Remember that's the maximum - your actual amount will depend on your specific earnings history.

Right, I'll use the benefit calculator to get a more accurate estimate for my situation.
