The weekly benefit amount stays the same throughout your entire benefit year unless you have a new claim with different wages. So whatever you qualify for initially is what you'll get for all 26 weeks (assuming you remain eligible).
One last tip - set up direct deposit when you file your claim. Paper checks take forever and can get lost in the mail. Direct deposit hits your account every Tuesday like clockwork if you file by the deadline.
Just remember that cyclical unemployment is what we saw during COVID - lots of people losing jobs due to economic conditions beyond their control. That's different from someone who quits to find a better job (frictional) or someone whose industry disappeared due to technology changes (structural).
If you're still having Washington ESD issues after your exam, definitely look into that Claimyr thing people mentioned. I was skeptical at first but it legitimately works for getting through their phone system.
Used Claimyr when I was trying to figure out if my situation qualified for good cause. The Washington ESD agent I spoke with through their service was really helpful in explaining what evidence I'd need. Definitely recommend if you're unsure about your options.
Bottom line - quitting usually disqualifies you from unemployment unless you can prove good cause. The burden of proof is high and the appeals process can take months. Make sure you're prepared for both the financial and procedural challenges before you quit.
This has been really helpful. I think I need to step back and create a more comprehensive plan before making any rash decisions.
Thanks everyone for all the advice and sharing your experiences. It's helpful to know I'm not alone in this waiting game. I'll keep filing my weekly claims and checking for updates. If it goes much longer I'll definitely look into that Claimyr service that seems to have helped a few people here.

Keep an eye on the Washington ESD news and announcements page. Sometimes new programs get announced with short application windows.

•Hope you get through to an agent soon. The Claimyr thing really did help me avoid the phone runaround if you decide to try it.

One last thing - if you do get approved for any extension, the payments might be delayed while they process everything. Don't panic if it takes a few weeks.

•How long of a delay are we talking about typically?

•Could be 2-4 weeks for processing, but they'll backpay you to when you were eligible. Just keep filing your weekly claims.
