Good luck with your claim! The whole process can be stressful but once you get approved and into the routine of filing weekly claims, it's pretty straightforward. Just stay on top of the job search requirements and report any income accurately.
One last tip - if you have multiple jobs or complex work history, it might take longer for Washington ESD to calculate your benefits. I had three part-time jobs and it took almost a month to get my monetary determination.
thanks for posting this question OP, I'm in a similar situation with a knee injury and this thread has been super helpful for understanding my options
Bottom line: yes you can apply for both, but you need to be very careful about how you present your situation. Get medical documentation, be consistent across applications, and don't hesitate to get professional guidance when needed. Good luck!
File your claim today if you haven't already. There's a waiting week anyway so the sooner you apply, the sooner you might start getting benefits. Good luck!
One more vote for trying Claimyr if you need to talk to Washington ESD directly. I was stuck in adjudication limbo for weeks and they helped me get through to someone who could actually explain what was happening with my claim.
I tried using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it actually worked great. Was able to talk to someone at Washington ESD in about 12 minutes when I had questions about whether I filed too early (spoiler alert: you can't file too early, only too late). Definitely recommend if you need to talk to someone quickly.
Bottom line from someone who's been through this multiple times unfortunately - file the day after your last day of work. Period. End of story. Don't listen to anyone who tells you to wait. You'll thank yourself later.

Been there, done that. Working part-time while on unemployment is totally doable if you're careful about reporting. Just don't try to cut corners or hide anything.

One more thing to remember - if you're working part-time, you still need to be actively looking for full-time work and meeting all the other unemployment requirements. The job search requirement doesn't go away.

•That's a good point. I almost forgot about that requirement. Thanks for the reminder!
