To give you the official answer: You should file your weekly claim through the Sunday before you start work. During that claim, you'll need to answer "yes" to the question asking if you've accepted an offer of work, and provide the date you'll start. As long as you answer all questions truthfully, you're following the proper procedure. When you start work on Monday, you'll stop filing weekly claims. If for some reason your job falls through, you can restart your claim process, but you'd need to explain the gap in filing.
lol i remember waiting 3 months for payments during covid and literally had to move back in w/ my parents...so glad those days r over!! the weird thing is sometimes my deposits hit tuesday night instead of wednesday morning. anyone else notice that?
UPDATE: You guys were right! My payment just hit my account this morning (Wednesday). Took exactly 15 days from when I first filed. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!
This seems to be a widespread issue today. I work with unemployment claimants and have received multiple reports about this exact problem. ESD is aware of the login issues and their IT team is working on it. For anyone experiencing this problem: 1. Try using a different browser (Firefox or Edge seem to work better than Chrome currently) 2. Clear your browser cache and cookies 3. Try incognito/private browsing mode 4. If none of these work, you can file your weekly claim by phone using the automated system at 800-318-6022 5. If you miss the deadline due to verified technical issues, you can request a backdate for your weekly claim with good cause I've also heard from claimants that logging in very early in the morning (5-6am) or late at night (after 10pm) sometimes works better when they're having system issues.
Thank you for this detailed response! The incognito mode suggestion worked for me. Do you know how long they expect the system issues to continue? I'm worried about next week too.
Glad to hear incognito mode worked for you! According to the ESD technical bulletin I received this morning, they expect to have this particular issue resolved by tomorrow afternoon. However, they're planning another system maintenance this weekend (Saturday night from 11pm to Sunday 2am), so there might be additional temporary issues during that time. I always recommend filing mid-week rather than waiting until the deadline when possible.
Is anyone else having a different problem where after finally getting logged in, the "File Weekly Claim" button just doesn't appear anywhere on the dashboard? I finally got past the password reset loop using incognito mode but now I can't find where to actually file my claim!
That usually means one of two things: either your benefit year has ended and you need to file a new claim, or there's an issue with your claim that needs addressing before you can file again. Check the "Alerts" section on your dashboard - it should tell you if there's a specific action needed. If there are no alerts, try clicking on the "Claim Summary" section, and you might find the weekly claim filing option there instead of on the main dashboard.
I experienced the exact same issue in February. After trying for days to get through, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to an ESD agent in about 15 minutes. The agent explained that my account had a technical flag that was limiting my phone options, but they fixed it immediately. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Definitely worth it when you're stuck with no other options.
UPDATE: I finally got through! For anyone with the same problem - I called the 800-318-6022 number super early (7:58am) and just stayed silent through ALL the prompts. After about 2 minutes of various messages, it finally gave me the option to file my weekly claim. Thanks everyone for your help!
Great to hear! Yes, calling right before they open at 8:00am is usually the best strategy. Also, for future reference, if you're having internet issues at home but have a smartphone, the eServices mobile site actually works quite well for filing weekly claims and uses very little data. It's more reliable than the phone system these days.

•No, I represented myself. My case was pretty straightforward - they disqualified me because they thought I quit, but I had documentation proving I was laid off. The judge was fair and listened to my evidence. I think it depends on how complicated your case is.

Just to add to my earlier comment - the ESD website won't update your weeks from 'disqualified' to 'paid' all at once. It's normal to see them change status in batches as they're processed. And sometimes they'll all update at once right before payment is issued. The important thing is having your appeal decision number and the date it was finalized ready when you call, as this helps them locate where your case is in the processing queue.
