If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I had a friend who used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Said it was a lifesaver when she couldn't get through to Washington ESD during her adjudication. Might be worth looking into if you run into phone issues.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind if I have trouble reaching them.

Yeah the phone system is terrible. Sometimes it just hangs up on you after waiting for an hour.

Update us when you hear back! I'm curious how it turns out since your situation sounds similar to what I'm dealing with.

Will do! Hopefully it won't take too long to get a decision.

Same here, following this thread for updates. Good luck!

For what it's worth, Washington's unemployment benefits are pretty decent compared to other states. The maximum weekly benefit of $1015 is higher than most places. Just make sure you file your weekly claims on time every week or you'll lose those payments.

0 coins

When do weekly claims have to be filed? Is there a specific day of the week?

0 coins

You can file anytime during your assigned week, but most people do it on Sundays. Just don't wait until the last minute in case the website is down.

If anyone is still confused about the calculation, I found this helpful: take your total wages from your highest earning quarter in the base period, divide by 26, and that's roughly your weekly benefit (subject to the min/max limits). The 'percentage' varies by person but it usually works out to 40-55% of your average weekly pay.

This is the clearest explanation I've seen. Thanks! I think I have a better understanding now of how Washington ESD calculates benefits.

Thank you all so much for the detailed responses! I feel much more confident about starting the application process now. Going to gather all my documents this weekend and apply on Monday.

0 coins

Good luck! Don't hesitate to come back here if you run into any issues during the process.

0 coins

You've got this! The anticipation is worse than the actual application.

One last tip - if you worked in multiple states recently, you might need to file in the state where you earned the most wages. Washington ESD can help determine which state you should file in if you're not sure.

I only worked in Washington so that shouldn't be an issue for me, but good to know!

0 coins

Perfect! That definitely simplifies things for your application.

Whatever you do, make sure you answer all the weekly claim questions honestly. They do audit claims and if they find you lied about anything you could end up with an overpayment that you have to pay back with penalties.

0 coins

What kind of questions do they ask on the weekly claims?

0 coins

Things like did you work, did you look for work, are you able and available for work, did you refuse any job offers. Pretty standard stuff but be accurate.

0 coins

if you get laid off and your employer contests your claim it can delay everything while it goes through adjudication. hope that doesn't happen to you but just be aware it's a possibility

0 coins

sometimes they claim it was misconduct instead of a layoff to avoid their unemployment insurance rates going up. its frustrating but it happens

0 coins

I had this happen and it took 6 weeks to resolve. Definitely try to get documentation from your employer about the reason for separation.

The system actually works pretty well for encouraging people to take whatever work they can find while still looking for something better. Just wish Washington ESD made the rules clearer upfront instead of people having to figure it out through forums like this.

0 coins

Totally agree. So much confusion could be avoided with better communication from Washington ESD.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I'm definitely going to file my claim and report my part-time earnings. Sounds like as long as I'm honest about everything and keep looking for full-time work, I should be fine.

0 coins

You've got the right attitude! Just remember to file every week and report all earnings accurately. Good luck with your job search!

Thanks so much everyone! This thread has been super helpful. I feel much more confident about filing now.
