If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

This thread should be pinned or something. So many people make this same timing mistake.

Agreed. Should be basic info that's easier to find.

Would have saved me two months of benefits if I'd seen this earlier!

At least you found out eventually and can still file. Some people never realize they were eligible. Good luck with your claim and job search!

0 coins

Thanks! Going to file right now and start my job search documentation.

Smart move. The sooner you get everything started, the better.

One thing that helped me was calling the Washington ESD customer service line before I started the application. They walked me through what documents I needed and gave me some tips on filling it out correctly.

0 coins

It took several tries but I eventually got through. Try calling right when they open at 8 AM - that's when you have the best chance.

0 coins

Or use Claimyr like I mentioned before. Much easier than trying to time your calls perfectly and still probably not getting through.

Just want to add that after you submit your initial application, you'll get instructions on how to file your weekly claims. Don't ignore those emails or letters - you need to file every single week to keep your benefits active.

0 coins

Are the weekly claims as complicated as the initial application?

0 coins

No, they're much simpler. Just a few questions about your work search activities and any money you earned that week. Takes about 5 minutes.

One more tip - take screenshots of everything when you file online. Save your confirmation numbers, print out pages, etc. I've heard of people having issues where the system said they never filed even though they did.

0 coins

Good thinking. I'll definitely document everything as I go through the process.

0 coins

Yes! And save any emails they send you. I had to prove my filing date once and the email confirmation was what saved me.

0 coins

Hope this helps, OP. The whole process can be overwhelming but you've got this. Most people do get their benefits eventually, it just takes patience and persistence. File today and then focus on your job search while you wait.

Thanks everyone! This thread has been incredibly helpful. Going to file right now and start applying for jobs this afternoon.

Good luck! Come back and update us on how it goes.

This has been a really educational thread! I never knew unemployment insurance went back to the 1930s. Makes me appreciate Washington ESD more, even when they're slow to process claims. At least the system exists and has been helping people for almost 90 years.

0 coins

Right? It's easy to complain about Washington ESD when you're waiting for benefits, but the alternative would be no safety net at all.

0 coins

True! Thanks everyone for all the great information. Really helped me understand the bigger picture behind my unemployment claim.

0 coins

Just want to wrap up by saying that while FUTA from 1939 created the framework, Washington ESD does try to modernize and improve their services. The online claim system, direct deposit, and job search tools are all much better than what existed even 10 years ago. Progress is slow but it's happening.

0 coins

That's encouraging! Hopefully they keep improving the system while maintaining the solid foundation that FUTA established back in the 1930s.

One last thing - if you're considering going back to school or training during unemployment, Washington has some programs that might extend your benefits or provide additional support. Look into the Training Benefits program if you're thinking about upgrading your skills.

0 coins

Is that through WorkSource or directly through Washington ESD?

0 coins

It's administered by Washington ESD but you usually work with WorkSource to get approved for training programs. They have to approve the training as likely to lead to employment in your area.

Bottom line - plan for 26 weeks maximum, use that time wisely, document your job search, and don't count on extensions. If you need help getting through to Washington ESD about your specific situation, services like Claimyr can save you a lot of headache with the phone system.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the detailed info. This gives me a much better understanding of what to expect.

0 coins

Good luck with your job search! The 26 weeks will give you time to find something good if you stay focused.
