One last piece of advice - if you do get approved, make sure you understand all the requirements for continuing to receive benefits. Job search requirements, reporting any income, etc. It's easy to mess up and lose your benefits later.
Thanks for posting this question OP. I learned a lot from reading everyone's responses. Going to file my own claim this week after putting it off for too long.
One thing to watch out for - if you turn down suitable work during your 26 weeks, Washington ESD can disqualify you and cut off your benefits early. So be careful about being too picky.
Bottom line - you get 26 weeks max, use them wisely, keep good records, and hopefully you'll find something great before you need all of them. Good luck with your job search!
Final update: Got approved for standby! $789/week starting next week. Thanks everyone for the advice about getting the employer paperwork right. This thread was super helpful.
This whole thread convinced me to ask my employer about standby. We're supposed to reopen in January after our facility upgrades. Fingers crossed they'll do the paperwork right!

expect the worst hope for the best lol. took me 5 weeks to get my first payment and that was with no complications. the system is just slow and understaffed. at least once you start getting payments they come regularly

•5 weeks even with no complications? That's longer than what others are saying.

•yeah it varies a lot. some people get lucky and get paid in 2-3 weeks, others wait much longer. depends on workload and which office processes your claim

The key is patience and persistence. Keep filing weekly claims, keep doing job searches, and keep checking your online account. If you hit roadblocks, don't give up. The system works eventually but it's not fast or user-friendly.

•You're welcome. Remember that most claims do get approved eventually, it's just a matter of following the process correctly and being patient with the timeline.
