For anyone reading this thread later - make sure you understand the difference between current support and arrears. They can only garnish UI for past due amounts, not ongoing monthly support orders.
Last thing - if you have questions about your specific garnishment amount or think there's an error, that's definitely something worth calling Washington ESD about. Sometimes the numbers don't match up right.
I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but good to know I can call if there are issues.
And if you need help getting through to them, that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier really does work for reaching Washington ESD agents.
One last thing - if you do get approved and start receiving benefits, report ANY work or income on your weekly claims. Even if it's just a one-day gig or selling something online. Washington ESD takes fraud seriously and it's better to report everything and let them decide if it affects your benefits.
Sounds like you have a solid case for qualifying. Layoff due to business reasons with steady work history is pretty much the textbook example of qualifying for unemployment. File soon and don't overthink it!
One thing that helped me was reading through all the FAQs on the Washington ESD website before filing. Answered a lot of questions I didn't even know I had.
Last piece of advice - if you need to reach ESD and the regular phone system isn't working, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier really does work. Used it myself when I had questions about my benefit calculation.

Make sure you're calling the right number for your specific issue. The general customer service line handles everything but there might be a more direct route for adjudication problems.

Update us when you finally get through! I'm dealing with the same issue and curious what they tell you about the adjudication delays.
