If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Good luck OP! The process isn't as scary as it seems once you get started. Just be patient because everything with ESD takes longer than you'd expect.

Thanks! I'm going to gather all my documents today and file this weekend.

One final tip - create your eServices account first before starting the application. It'll save you time and you'll use that account for your weekly claims too.

Great advice! I'll do that first step today.

Just filed my claim yesterday and used the benefit estimator. With my wages from tech job should get around $850/week. Now just waiting for adjudication to complete so payments can start.

0 coins

From what I've read on here, seems like 2-4 weeks is typical right now. Hopefully not longer.

0 coins

If adjudication is taking too long, that's another good time to use something like Claimyr to reach an agent and check on status

One more thing - if you work part-time while collecting unemployment, Washington ESD has a formula for how that affects your weekly benefit. You can earn up to about $200 without any reduction, then they start deducting from your benefit amount.

0 coins

That's good to know. So you can do some gig work or part-time and still collect most of your benefits?

0 coins

Yeah, they encourage people to work part-time while job searching. Just have to report all earnings when you file your weekly claim.

Update from my situation - I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and finally got through to talk to an agent about my claim. Turns out there was just a simple verification issue holding things up. Wish I'd known about it sooner instead of calling for weeks.

0 coins

Good to hear it worked out! I might need to use that if I run into any issues with my claim.

0 coins

Yeah definitely keep it in mind if you need to actually talk to someone. The regular phone system is basically useless.

Bottom line: file your claim regardless of how you lost your job. Let Washington ESD make the determination rather than assuming you don't qualify. The worst they can say is no, but you might be surprised and get approved.

You're absolutely right. I'm going to file my claim today. Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice and encouragement!

Good luck with your claim! Keep us posted on how it goes.

Washington state = 26 weeks max. Period. No current extensions. Use the time wisely and don't count on anything beyond those 6 months. Also set up your job search tracking system early - Washington ESD can audit your activities at any time.

Any recommended apps or tools for tracking job searches?

0 coins

I just use a simple spreadsheet with dates, company names, positions, and how I applied. Keep it simple but detailed.

Since you mentioned budgeting - remember your unemployment benefits are taxable income. You can choose to have taxes withheld or pay quarterly/annually. Factor that into your 6-month financial planning.

0 coins

I always do 10% withholding to avoid a big tax bill later. You can change this anytime through your online account.

0 coins

Definitely withhold something. I got hit with a $2000 tax bill my first year on unemployment because I forgot about this.

0 coins

Don't forget about the job search requirements once you start collecting benefits. You'll need to actively look for work and document your job search activities.

0 coins

Right, I need to be prepared for that part too. Thanks for the reminder.

0 coins

Yeah, they take the job search requirements seriously. You have to log your activities and be ready to provide details if asked.

0 coins

Good luck with your application! It sounds like you have a decent chance of qualifying based on your previous W-2 work. Just be patient with the process and keep all your documentation organized.

Thank you! This thread has been incredibly helpful. I feel much more confident about applying now.

This whole discussion has been really informative. I learned a lot about self-employment and unemployment benefits.
