Has anyone had luck with Claimyr for getting through to discuss benefit extensions or special circumstances? My situation is complicated and I really need to talk to someone at Washington ESD about potentially qualifying for additional weeks.
Bottom line: 26 weeks maximum for regular UI in Washington, no current extensions available, but not everyone qualifies for the full 26 weeks. Check your monetary determination for your specific entitlement and plan your job search accordingly. And keep filing weekly even if you think you might not qualify - better safe than sorry.
Make sure you also register with WorkSource Washington if you haven't already. It's required for unemployment benefits and you can do it online at worksourcewa.com. Plus it actually has some decent job search tools.
The system also asks about your availability for work and any restrictions you might have. Be honest but don't over-restrict yourself - it can affect your eligibility if you're too limited in what work you'll accept.
The key thing is just to be patient and keep filing your weekly claims even during the waiting week. I know it's stressful when you need money, but the system does work eventually.
Just want to add that if you have any questions about your specific situation during the waiting week, don't hesitate to contact Washington ESD. It's better to ask questions early than to have problems later.
And if you can't get through on the phone, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier actually worked for me. Worth considering if you need to talk to someone urgently.
Make sure your direct deposit info is correct in your account! I had a friend who had to wait an extra week because her bank routing number was wrong and the payment bounced back to Washington ESD.
Bottom line - if your claim is straightforward (regular layoff, clear employment history, no disputes), expect 2-3 weeks. If there are complications, could be 4-8 weeks or more. The key is staying on top of your weekly claims and requirements.

Final thought - don't let anyone tell you that you can't or shouldn't apply for benefits you might be entitled to. The worst they can do is say no, but if you qualify for both programs and can meet the requirements, you shouldn't feel guilty about accessing the support that's available.

•Thanks for saying that. I've been feeling guilty about even considering applying for both, but you're right that I should pursue whatever help I'm entitled to.

•These programs exist for people in situations like yours. As long as you're honest about your circumstances and follow the rules, you shouldn't feel bad about using them.
