One last tip - save copies of everything you submit to ESD and keep records of all your interactions with them. If you end up needing to appeal or if there are any disputes later, having your own documentation is invaluable.
Just to add one more success story to the mix - I got fired from my warehouse job for 'safety violations' (aka refusing to work in unsafe conditions) and not only did I get UI benefits, but the state also investigated my former employer. Sometimes standing up for yourself pays off in the long run.
The key is just to get started. I know it seems overwhelming but once you get through the initial application, the weekly claims are pretty straightforward. You got this!
If you have any issues with the Washington ESD website or need to speak with someone about your claim, I had good luck with that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Saved me hours of trying to get through on the phone.

Update us on how the application goes! And seriously, if you hit any roadblocks trying to reach Washington ESD, remember that Claimyr option. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get things sorted out, and their regular phone system makes that nearly impossible.

•Will do! Hopefully everything goes smoothly but it's good to know there are options if I get stuck.

Good luck with everything! Losing a job is stressful enough without having to navigate all this bureaucracy. But once you get through the initial setup, the weekly claims become pretty routine. Hang in there!
