One last tip - when you do talk to Washington ESD, make sure to ask about any programs you might qualify for. Sometimes they know about additional resources that aren't obvious from the website.
And if you have trouble getting through, seriously consider that Claimyr service. Made my life so much easier when dealing with Washington ESD.
This has been one of the most helpful threads I've read about Washington ESD. Usually these discussions just turn into people complaining about the system.
One more thing - if you do end up needing to call Washington ESD for any reason during this process, that Claimyr service really is a game changer. I probably would have waited months longer without it because I could never get through the regular way.
Final thought - don't stress too much about the exact calculation. Washington ESD will determine your benefit amount when you file your claim. The important thing is to get your application submitted as soon as possible.
Just remember that if your claim gets stuck in adjudication or you have issues, that Claimyr service can help you reach someone at Washington ESD to resolve problems quickly. Sometimes you need to talk to a real person to get things sorted out.
Mine got approved at exactly the 3 week mark. Got the determination letter on a Tuesday and first payment hit my account that Thursday. Hang in there!
If you need to speak with someone urgently about your claim status, I actually had success with that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Worth checking out their demo video to see if it would help your situation. Sometimes you just need a real person to look at your account.

One last thing - if you do get approved, your benefits will be based on your earnings over the past year, not just your last job. So don't worry if your final paycheck was smaller than usual.

You should also know that even if your employer contests your claim, you can still receive benefits while the appeal process is going on. You just might have to pay them back if the appeal doesn't go your way.

•That's really helpful to know. At least I won't be without income while they sort it out.

•Yeah, they call it 'payment pending appeal' or something like that. Better than waiting months with no income.
