If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Don't forget that Washington state unemployment benefits are subject to federal income tax. You can choose to have 10% withheld when you file your weekly claims to avoid a big tax bill later.

Good point! I'll make sure to set up the tax withholding when I file. Don't want to get surprised at tax time.

Yeah I learned that the hard way. Owed like $2000 in taxes on my unemployment benefits because I didn't withhold anything.

For anyone who's still having trouble getting through to Washington ESD, I also used Claimyr recently and it was a game changer. I was able to get my benefit amount question answered and resolve an issue with my weekly claim filing. The video demo they have explains everything pretty clearly.

I'm getting desperate enough to try anything. The regular Washington ESD phone line just hangs up on me after being on hold forever.

0 coins

That's exactly what was happening to me. Claimyr got me connected to an actual person who could help instead of dealing with the automated system.

Does anyone know if overtime counts toward your highest quarter calculation? I had a lot of OT in my best quarter.

Yes, all wages count including overtime, bonuses, commissions, etc. As long as it was reported on your W-2, it should be included.

Awesome, that should help me get closer to the maximum then.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! This thread answered way more questions than I expected.

Post an update when you find the data! I'm curious what the actual numbers were for Washington state during those years.

Will do! I'll try to remember to come back and share what I find once I finish the research.

Yeah, I'd be interested to see how Washington compared to the national averages during the Depression.

This has been a really interesting discussion. Makes you appreciate how much the unemployment system has evolved since then, even with all its current problems.

0 coins

Absolutely. For all the frustration with Washington ESD adjudication delays and phone issues, at least we have a system at all.

0 coins

True. My complaints about weekly claims suddenly seem pretty minor in comparison to what people dealt with in the 1930s.

This has been such a helpful thread. I wish there was clearer information about this stuff readily available instead of having to piece it together from forum posts.

Agreed! The Washington ESD website has the info but it's not always easy to find or understand.

That's exactly why I ended up using Claimyr - sometimes you just need to talk to a real person who can explain things in plain English.

congrats on the pregnancy! so exciting. and thanks for asking this question because i learned a lot from all the responses too 🙂

Thank you! And you're welcome - I'm so glad this helped other people too!

The whole system is set up to be confusing on purpose I swear. They don't want people to know they qualify.

0 coins

Probably some truth to that unfortunately.

The complexity comes from trying to cover all the different work situations people have. It's not perfect but it's more comprehensive than simpler systems.

Bottom line - if you've worked steadily for 6 months and earned decent wages, you probably qualify. The exact calculations matter less than having consistent work history and earnings.

That's reassuring. I feel better about my situation now. Thanks everyone for all the helpful info!

Good luck! Hope you don't need to use unemployment but at least now you know you probably qualify if you do.
