Yeah you should definitely qualify if you're laid off. Just remember that unemployment benefits are temporary - they're meant to help you while you look for new work, not as a long-term solution. Start job hunting right away even while you're waiting for benefits to kick in.
Best of luck with everything! Layoffs are stressful but at least unemployment benefits exist to help bridge the gap. Follow all the advice here and you should be fine. The system works, it's just sometimes slow and frustrating.
For what it's worth, I had a similar situation with multiple jobs and Washington ESD was able to sort it out. They look at all your covered employment in the base period, so even if one job was complicated, the other clear employment helped establish eligibility.
Bottom line - if you're unemployed through no fault of your own and have recent work history, you probably qualify. The application will determine for sure and it's free to apply. Don't stress too much about it.
Don't forget you'll need to file weekly claims every week to get paid, even while your initial claim is processing. Mark your calendar so you don't miss the deadline.
Is there anything special I need to know about the WorkSource registration that was mentioned earlier?
You need to register at WorkSourceWA.com within a few days of filing your claim. It's part of the job search requirements and helps track your work search activities.
This thread has been super helpful! I was also confused about my benefit amount but now I understand it's based on old quarters, not recent pay. Washington ESD really should explain this stuff better upfront.
btw for anyone still struggling to reach washington esd about benefit calculations, that claimyr service mentioned earlier actually worked for me too. got through in like 15 minutes vs hours of busy signals

I work at a tax prep office and we see this all the time. Washington ESD 1099-G forms are usually available online by mid-January, even if the mailed copies are delayed. Always check your online account first before calling.

•Do you know if there's a specific deadline for when they have to make the forms available online?

•I believe they're required to have them available by January 31st, same as the mailing deadline, but I'd double check that.

Last resort option: if you really can't get your 1099-G and need to file ASAP, you can use your Washington ESD payment history to calculate the total yourself. Just make sure you account for any taxes that were withheld.

•Thanks but I was able to find my form online. Good backup plan though for anyone else in this situation.

•This saved me last year when I couldn't get my form in time. Just printed out my payment history and gave it to my tax guy.
