Just wanted to add that you should also update your job search activities in WorkSourceWA if you've been using that. Let them know you found employment.
One thing to watch out for is if your claim goes into adjudication for any reason. That can happen at any time, not just at 12 weeks. If it does, be prepared for a long wait to get it resolved.
Mine went into adjudication at week 8 and took forever to resolve. If that happens to anyone, definitely try Claimyr to get through to talk to someone about it.
Just to summarize for anyone reading this later - there's nothing special about 12 weeks of unemployment in Washington. Keep filing your weekly claims, do your job searches, and you'll be fine as long as you have benefit weeks remaining in your claim year.
I was fired from a retail job for 'customer service issues' but really I just wouldn't let customers yell at me. Got approved for benefits after explaining the situation. Stand up for yourself during the process!
Based on everything you've described, you have a really strong case for unemployment benefits. Getting fired for raising safety concerns is textbook retaliation, and poor performance without willful misconduct usually qualifies for benefits anyway.
You've got this! Most people in your situation get approved. Just be honest and thorough in your application.
And remember, if you need to reach Washington ESD about your claim, Claimyr can help you get through their phone system. Much easier than spending all day trying to call yourself.
I used claimyr when my claim got stuck in adjudication hell. The Washington ESD agent explained my case had been sitting unassigned for weeks. Got it resolved the same day I finally talked to someone.
That's why services like Claimyr exist. The regular phone system is basically broken but if you can actually talk to someone most issues get resolved quickly.
Last piece of advice - be patient but persistent. The system is frustrating but most people do eventually get their benefits. Just make sure you keep filing weekly claims no matter what happens with your initial application.

Just to follow up on the Claimyr thing - if you do end up needing to call Washington ESD for any reason (checking claim status, resolving issues, asking questions), definitely consider it. Saved me so much time and frustration. Sometimes the small cost is worth avoiding hours on hold.

•I'll keep that in mind if I run into any problems. Hopefully the application process goes smoothly though!

Good luck with everything! Unemployment benefits really are a lifeline when you need them. Don't feel bad about using a program you paid into.
