For anyone wondering, you can see your estimated weekly benefit amount in your SecureAccess Washington account even before your claim is fully approved. It's under the claim summary section.
The whole unemployment system in Washington seems designed to confuse people. Between base periods, benefit years, weekly claims, and adjudication, it's like they don't want you to actually get benefits.
I understand the frustration, but the complexity exists because they have to follow federal and state laws about eligibility and benefit calculations. It's not intentionally confusing, just legally required to be thorough.
Last thing - if your claim gets approved, you'll receive a debit card in the mail for your payments. Don't throw it away thinking it's junk mail! It takes about 7-10 days to arrive.
Just to close the loop on contacting ESD if you need help - I tried calling for three weeks straight and never got through. Finally used that Claimyr service someone mentioned and got connected to an agent the same day. Sometimes you need extra help to navigate the system.
Good luck with your claim! Remember to file those weekly claims consistently and keep up with your job search. The system works if you follow the rules and stay on top of everything.
Hope everything works out for you! The waiting is definitely the hardest part but most people do get approved if they were legitimately laid off. Keep us posted on how it goes!
Will do! Thanks again for the Claimyr recommendation. I'm feeling a lot better about the whole process now.

Just want to emphasize what others have said - NEVER hide income from Washington ESD. They cross-reference with employers and tax records. It's not worth trying to game the system.

•Definitely won't try to hide anything. This thread has made that very clear!

•Smart choice. I've seen people get in real trouble for not reporting work income.

If anyone else needs to talk to Washington ESD about partial benefits or work reporting, that Claimyr service mentioned earlier really does work. Used it last month when I had questions about how my seasonal work would affect my benefits.

•Good to hear another positive experience with that service. I'll keep it in mind if I need to call Washington ESD.
