If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Weekly filing in WA state. Some other states do bi-weekly but not here. File every Sunday and you'll be fine. Don't stress about it too much.

Agreed, it's pretty straightforward once you do it a few times.

Final reminder for anyone reading this thread - Washington ESD requires weekly claim filing. File every Sunday for the previous week's period. Missing weeks can delay your payments, so stay consistent with your filing schedule.

Perfect, thank you everyone! I'm setting my Sunday reminder right now.

Good luck with your claim! The weekly filing becomes routine pretty quickly.

One more thing to consider - if you're receiving workers compensation for your injury, that has different rules than regular disability insurance when it comes to UI eligibility.

0 coins

Mine isn't workers comp since the injury happened outside of work. Just regular short-term disability through my employer's plan.

0 coins

That should make things simpler then. Workers comp has more restrictions when it comes to concurrent UI benefits.

Bottom line - you probably can collect both if you're medically cleared for some type of work and actively seeking employment within your physical limitations. Just be transparent with Washington ESD and report everything correctly.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice. I feel much more confident about moving forward with this now.

Good luck! The most important thing is getting that medical clearance and being honest about your work restrictions.

Does anyone know if the tax withholding election carries over to the next benefit year if you have to reapply? Or do you have to set it up again?

0 coins

I believe you have to elect it again when you file a new claim, but I'm not 100% sure. That might be a good question for a Washington ESD agent.

0 coins

Yeah I'll try to get through to them and ask. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for all the tax info! This thread was really helpful. Going to log in and set up withholding on my next weekly claim.

0 coins

Glad it helped! You'll thank yourself next tax season.

Same here - definitely setting up withholding after reading all this.

One more thing - if you've worked in other states recently, you might need to file in a different state depending on where you earned the most wages. Washington has reciprocity agreements with most states though.

I've only worked in Washington for the past three years so I should be good there.

0 coins

Yeah, if all your work history is in Washington, definitely file with Washington ESD. Makes everything simpler.

Bottom line: file as soon as you're unemployed or have reduced hours. The system is designed to help people who act quickly. Waiting just hurts you financially.

Got it. Filing first thing Monday morning after my last day. Thanks everyone for all the advice!

Good luck! The process seems scary at first but it's really not that bad once you get started.

Pro tip: start looking for jobs immediately even before your claim is approved. The job market is competitive right now and unemployment benefits don't last forever.

Already started updating my resume and browsing job boards. Definitely don't want to be unemployed any longer than necessary.

Final thought - document everything related to your termination while it's still fresh in your memory. Dates, conversations, witnesses, emails, etc. You never know what might be important if this goes to an appeal.

Taylor To

Great advice. I'm going to write down everything I can remember from the past few weeks leading up to my termination.

Smart move. The more documentation you have, the stronger your case will be if your employer tries to contest the claim.
