If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more thing - if you do qualify and get approved, make sure you understand the job search requirements. With your contractor background, you'll need to show you're genuinely seeking regular employment, not just more freelance work.

That makes sense. I'm actually open to regular employment at this point anyway - the uncertainty of contractor work is getting old.

0 coins

That's the right attitude! Washington ESD wants to see you're able and available for covered work. Your contracting skills would probably translate well to a marketing or communications role.

Hope it works out for you! The system definitely isn't perfect for people with non-traditional work histories, but finding those W-2 wages might be your solution. Keep us posted on how the reapplication goes.

Thanks everyone for all the help and advice. I feel much more hopeful about my options now. Will definitely update if I get approved this time around.

One more tip - set up direct deposit if you haven't already. It's faster than waiting for a debit card or check to arrive, and you don't have to worry about mail delays.

0 coins

I already have direct deposit set up, which is why I was wondering about the timing. Good tip though!

0 coins

Yes! Direct deposit is definitely the way to go. The debit card option has fees and the checks take forever.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! This thread has been way more useful than the Washington ESD website. I feel much better about the whole process now.

Glad we could help! Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions as you go through the process.

This is what I love about this forum - people actually helping each other navigate this confusing system.

One more tip - if you do get denied initially, don't give up. You can appeal the decision and sometimes they overturn it, especially if there was missing information or a misunderstanding about your work history. The appeal process gives you a chance to provide additional documentation.

0 coins

Good to know there's an appeal option. Hopefully won't need it but nice to have that backup.

0 coins

The appeal process saved me. My initial denial was based on incorrect information from my former employer and I was able to get it overturned.

Thanks everyone for all this info! Really helpful to understand that it's about total earnings over the base period rather than just how long you've been at one job. Feeling much more confident about my situation now.

0 coins

Glad we could help clarify things! Remember to keep all your employment records handy in case you need them for the application.

Good luck with everything! Hope you don't end up needing to file but at least now you know you're likely eligible if you do.

The important thing is being honest about your situation. Don't try to collect both benefits at the same time - that's fraud. Wait until you're legitimately able and available for work.

0 coins

Definitely don't want to get in trouble. I'll wait until disability officially ends and I have medical clearance.

0 coins

That's the smart approach. Better to wait a few extra days than risk benefit fraud charges.

0 coins

Good luck with everything! The transition from disability to unemployment can be tricky but sounds like you're asking the right questions.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the advice. This thread has been really helpful in understanding what I need to do.

0 coins

Happy to help. Just remember - wait for disability to end, get medical clearance, then apply for unemployment if you meet all the other requirements.

0 coins

Bottom line for the original poster - based on what you described (8 months full-time plus 6 months part-time), you should easily meet the earnings requirement. Being laid off rather than fired or quitting means you should qualify. Just file your claim online and let the system determine your eligibility officially.

Thanks everyone! This has been really helpful. I feel much more confident about applying now.

0 coins

Good luck! Don't hesitate to ask more questions here if you run into issues during the application process.

0 coins

One last thing - make sure you have your Social Security number, driver's license, and information about your recent employers ready when you apply. The online application will ask for all of that.

0 coins

Perfect, I'll gather all that stuff before I start the application. Thanks again everyone!
