TWC payment timing for Thursday filing date with Navy Federal - when to expect funds?

Hi everyone, I'm a little confused about the timing of unemployment payments. My regular filing day is Thursday (I file every two weeks), and I have Navy Federal Credit Union. I submitted my payment request yesterday but still don't see anything pending in my account. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the money to post with Navy Fed specifically? Is it different than other banks? This is only my second payment request so I'm still figuring out the pattern. Thanks for any help!

With Navy Federal, it typically takes 2-3 business days after your payment request shows 'processed' in the TWC system. So if you filed Thursday, the payment probably won't be processed until Friday or Monday, then takes another 1-2 business days to hit your account. I'd expect to see it Tuesday or Wednesday next week. You can check your payment status on the TWC website or by calling Tele-Serv at 800-558-8321 to confirm when it's processed.

Thanks! That helps. Where exactly on the TWC website can I see the payment status? I've been looking around but it's so confusing.

Same. I usually get paid Monday or Tuesday when I file on Thursday. Navy Federal has been consistent for me.

I HATE the TWC payment schedule! It's intentionally confusing and they never explain anything clearly. I use Navy Fed too and sometimes I get it in 2 days, sometimes 5 days - IT'S COMPLETELY RANDOM! And if there's a holiday? FORGET IT. Add another 2-3 days delay with NO EXPLANATION. They act like we don't have bills that are due on specific dates!!!

I feel ya. Mine gets delayed all the time too. One time they even skipped a payment without telling me why and I had to call like 50 times to figure out what happened. Turns out I accidentally put one wrong digit in my work search activity. Like seriously? The whole system is designed to make us fail.

You need to check your claim and payment status online. Log into your TWC account, go to Unemployment Benefits Services, and then look for "Claim and Payment Status" link. It will show when your payment was processed and the date it was released to your bank. Navy Federal usually deposits TWC payments pretty quickly compared to some other banks - typically 1-2 business days after TWC releases it. If you filed Thursday, TWC usually processes it Friday, and Navy Fed might have it in your account by Monday or Tuesday. But if there were any issues with your payment request (work search verification, earnings reported, etc.), it could take longer while they review it.

Thanks! I just checked and it's showing as "processed" but not released yet. I guess I'll just keep checking back. I didn't report any earnings this time so hopefully there won't be any delays.

My sister-in-law uses Navy Federal and she said she always gets her unemployment on Tuesday when she files on Thursday. I use Chase and always get mine Wednesday. It's weird how every bank is different!

By the way, if you're having trouble checking your payment status or need to talk to TWC about why your payment might be delayed, I recently discovered this service called Claimyr that helps you get through to TWC agents without waiting on hold forever. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh and sign up at claimyr.com. I used it last month when my payment was delayed and actually got through to a real person in like 10 minutes instead of calling for days. Just sharing since it saved me a ton of stress.

Does that actually work? I've tried EVERYTHING to get through to TWC and it's always busy signals or disconnects after waiting FOREVER.

Yes, it worked for me! I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for 3 days to get through. They basically call TWC for you and when they get someone on the line, they connect you. Saved me hours of redial-hell.

Oh that's good to know. I did put 3 work search activities so hopefully that's not the issue. I'll double check though!

One more thing to keep in mind - your payment request day and your actual payday aren't always the same week, especially when you're just starting out. The first few payments often take longer while TWC verifies everything. After that, it becomes more predictable. Most Navy Federal users in Texas report seeing their deposits on Tuesday for Thursday filing dates, assuming no issues with your claim. If you don't see anything by Thursday next week, that's when I'd start calling TWC to check if there's a problem. Their system will also send you correspondence if there's an issue, so check your TWC inbox regularly.

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! It's only my second payment request so that makes sense it might take a little longer. I'll try to be patient and wait until at least Thursday before panicking.

I've been using Navy Federal for my unemployment payments for about 6 months now, and I can confirm what others are saying - it's pretty consistent. When I file on Thursday, I usually see the money hit my account on Tuesday. The key is checking your TWC account to see when it shows "released" - that's when Navy Fed will typically deposit it within 24-48 hours. Also, just a heads up that if there's a federal holiday during that processing window, it can add an extra day or two. But overall Navy Fed is one of the faster banks for direct deposits in my experience!

That's really reassuring to hear from someone who's been doing this for 6 months! I'm still figuring out all the timing and processes. Good tip about checking for the "released" status - I'll make sure to look for that specifically. And thanks for the heads up about federal holidays potentially adding delays. It's helpful to know what's normal vs when I should actually be concerned about a delay.

Just wanted to add my experience with Navy Fed and TWC payments since I see you're still learning the process! I've been filing for about 4 months now and here's what I've noticed: Navy Federal is actually one of the more reliable banks for getting your deposit quickly. When I file on Thursday, my payment usually shows as "processed" on Friday in the TWC system, then "released" by Monday, and I see it in my Navy Fed account by Tuesday morning. One thing that helped me track everything better was setting up text alerts in my Navy Fed account specifically for direct deposits - that way I know the exact moment it hits. Also, if you're ever unsure about timing, Navy Fed's customer service is pretty good about explaining when they received the deposit request from TWC. Hope this helps ease some of the uncertainty while you're getting used to the routine!

That's super helpful, thank you! I'm definitely still learning all the ins and outs of this process. Setting up text alerts for direct deposits is a great idea - I hadn't thought of that but it would definitely help with the anxiety of wondering when it'll show up. I'm going to do that right now. It's also good to know that Navy Fed customer service can tell you when they received the deposit request from TWC - that could be useful if there's ever a delay and I need to figure out if it's on TWC's end or the bank's end. Thanks for sharing your timeline too, it really helps to hear from people who have been through this routine for a while!

I've been filing with TWC for about 8 months now and also use Navy Federal. The timing is pretty predictable once you get into the routine! For Thursday filers, here's what I typically see: TWC processes the payment on Friday, it shows "released" by Monday afternoon, and Navy Fed deposits it Tuesday morning (usually around 3-4 AM). One thing that really helped me was downloading the Navy Federal mobile app and turning on push notifications for account activity - you'll get an instant alert when the deposit hits. Also, if you're ever worried about a delay, you can call Navy Fed at 1-888-842-6328 and they can see exactly when TWC sent the deposit request, which helps you know if the delay is on TWC's side or the bank's side. Since this is only your second payment, don't stress too much if the timing seems off - the first few payments can be less predictable while everything gets established in the system. After that, it becomes very routine!

This is exactly the kind of detailed breakdown I was looking for! Thank you so much for sharing your 8-month experience with the timing. It's really reassuring to know that the 3-4 AM Tuesday deposit is typical for Thursday filers with Navy Fed. I'm definitely going to download the mobile app and set up those push notifications - that sounds way less stressful than constantly checking my account. And good point about the first few payments being less predictable while everything gets established. I was starting to worry that something was wrong, but it sounds like this is just part of the initial process. Really appreciate you taking the time to explain all of this!

I've been dealing with TWC and Navy Federal for about a year now, and I can definitely relate to the confusion when you're just starting out! The good news is that Navy Fed is actually one of the better banks for unemployment deposits - they're usually pretty quick and reliable. For Thursday filing, here's what I typically see: TWC processes it Friday, shows "released" by Monday, and Navy Fed deposits it Tuesday morning (sometimes as early as midnight Monday night). The key thing is to check your TWC account for the status change to "released" - that's when you know Navy Fed should have it within 24 hours. Since you mentioned this is only your second payment, don't worry if it takes a few extra days this time. TWC sometimes does additional verification on the first couple payments, especially if you're new to the system. Also make sure you completed all 3 work search activities correctly - that's the most common reason for payment delays. If you don't see it by Wednesday, that's when I'd start checking with TWC to see if there are any issues. But based on your timeline, I'd expect to see it in your Navy Fed account Tuesday morning!

Thank you so much for this comprehensive breakdown! It's really helpful to hear from someone who's been through this process for a full year. I feel much better knowing that Navy Fed is considered one of the better banks for unemployment deposits. I just checked my TWC account again and it's still showing "processed" but not "released" yet, so I'll keep watching for that status change. I did complete all 3 work search activities, so hopefully that won't be an issue. Your timeline of Tuesday morning deposit for Thursday filing really helps set my expectations. I'll try to be patient and wait until Wednesday before getting concerned. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience - it definitely eases the anxiety of being new to this whole process!

Hey Eve! I've been using Navy Federal for my TWC payments for about 5 months now, and I can definitely help ease your worries. Since you filed Thursday and it's showing as "processed" in your TWC account, you're right on track! With Navy Fed, once TWC shows "processed," it usually takes 1-2 more business days to show "released," then Navy Fed typically deposits it within 24 hours of that release. For Thursday filers like us, I usually see my payment hit my Navy Fed account on Tuesday mornings (sometimes as early as 2-3 AM). Since this is your second payment, it might take an extra day or two while TWC is still verifying everything is set up correctly in their system - totally normal! One tip that's helped me: log into your Navy Fed account and set up account alerts for direct deposits. That way you'll get a text or email the moment it hits, instead of constantly checking. Also, if you want to track it more closely, the TWC payment status usually updates in the evening, so check after 6 PM for the most current info. Don't stress if you don't see it until Wednesday this time - the first few payments can be a bit less predictable. After that, it becomes very routine!

This is so helpful, thank you! I'm definitely going to set up those account alerts right now - that's a much better strategy than obsessively checking my account every few hours like I've been doing. It's really reassuring to hear that the first few payments being less predictable is totally normal. I was starting to worry that I had done something wrong with my filing. Your Tuesday morning timeline matches what several other Navy Fed users have shared, so that gives me a lot more confidence about when to expect it. I'll check my TWC status after 6 PM tonight to see if it's moved to "released" yet. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience - it really helps to hear from people who've been through this routine for a while!
