Has anyone with a 4/15 DDD received their refund at Navy Federal Credit Union yet?

Filed my taxes back in early February and finally got a direct deposit date of 4/15 on my transcript last week. I bank with Navy Federal and was wondering if anyone else with the same DDD has seen their money hit their account yet? Getting anxious since I've been waiting almost 2 months now and really need this money. Have checked my account like 50 times today and still nothing showing up. Anyone else in the same situation or did your refund come early?

I have Navy Federal too and had a 4/12 DDD. Mine actually hit my account 2 days early (on 4/10). Navy Fed usually does process government payments early when possible. Give it another day or two - they often release funds as soon as the IRS sends the ACH transfer, which can happen before the official date. Also, make sure you're checking both your checking and savings accounts if you have multiple accounts with them. Sometimes people select the wrong account when filing and don't realize it. If nothing shows up by 4/17, I'd recommend calling Navy Federal to see if they have any pending deposits for you.

Thanks for the info! I'm definitely only checking the right account. I'll give it till Wednesday then try calling them. Just frustrating waiting so long for money that's mine to begin with.

Navy Fed is usually pretty good with early deposits. I second checking pending transactions too - sometimes it'll show there before it hits your available balance.

I've had Navy Fed for years and they ALWAYS release my tax refund 1-2 days early. Like clockwork. Something's definitely off if yours hasn't shown up yet.

Hey, I was in a similar situation last year. Banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what was going on with my refund. I finally found taxr.ai and it completely changed everything. Instead of guessing what was happening with my transcript and refund date, it explained everything clearly - like having a tax pro translate all that IRS gibberish. Saved me so much stress! Might be worth checking out if you're still confused about your situation: https://taxr.ai

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

It's way more than just reading your transcript! It analyzes everything - explains all those weird codes, tells you exactly what's happening with your refund and when to expect it. I was literally about to pay a tax pro $200 for a consultation when I found this. Best decision ever šŸ’Æ

another app promising the world lol... does it actually work tho?

I was totally skeptical too! But after spending WEEKS trying to decode my transcript myself and getting nowhere, I tried it. It tells you exactly what's happening, why it's happening, and what to expect next. Honestly, EVERYONE dealing with tax refund delays should be using this.

After waiting 2 months for my refund with a similar DDD, I was going crazy trying to reach the IRS for answers. Finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and actually got through to a real person! Got answers right away and they released my refund within days. Saved me hours of hold music and frustration.

wait is this one of those sketchy services that charge you to call the IRS? how does it even work?

0 coins

Haley Stokes

•

Not sketchy at all! You just pay for the service and they navigate the phone tree for you, then call you when they have an agent on the line. Considering I spent HOURS trying to get through myself and kept getting disconnected, it was worth every penny. Got my $4,300 refund released after just one call.

hmm sounds too good to be true... can't you just call the IRS yourself for free?

0 coins

Have you tried calling the IRS lately? 🤣 It's impossible! I tried for TWO WEEKS straight and either got the "we're too busy" message or sat on hold for 2 hours only to get disconnected. Used Claimyr and had an agent within 30 mins.

Exactly! Plus the time saved is worth it alone. I was able to just go about my day and then my phone rang when they had an agent. Way better than being stuck listening to that awful hold music for hours.

Mine hit today and I have Navy Federal with a 4/15 date. Check if yours is pending maybe? They usually show as pending for 24 hrs before posting to your account.

Last year i had the exact same issue. My DDD was 3/17 but my refund didn't hit Navy Fed until 3/19. Sometimes the IRS doesn't actually send the money exactly on the date they say. I'd wait until Thursday before panicking.

That makes me feel a little better. Guess I'll try to be patient a bit longer.

The IRS is so inconsistant it drives me crazy. Some people get it early, others late. No rhyme or reason.

have u checked ur transcript on the irs website? sometimes ur DDD can change without them telling u. happened to me this year and i was waiting for nothing šŸ™„

0 coins

I checked yesterday and it still showed 4/15. Maybe I should look again today to be sure?

Def check again! And look at the code next to the ddd. If it says 846 ur good. If its 570 or 971 u might have an issue.

The way ive seen it work is the 846 date is when the IRS sends it but doesnt necessarily mean it hits your account that day. If ur worried call the refund hotline at 1-800-829-1954. It's automated but at least you can verify the refund was actually sent.

That automated system is useless though. It just reads the same info you can see online. Doesn't tell you if there's any actual issues.

If you really want answers, you need to talk to a human. I spent 3 weeks calling that number and getting nowhere. Finally used claimyr.com and got through to an agent who fixed my issue in 10 minutes.

Did you file with TurboTax or any other service that might take fees out of your refund? Sometimes that delays it by a day or two since it has to go through their bank first. Just something to consider.

0 coins

Yeah I used H&R Block and had the fees taken out of my refund. Didn't think about that causing a delay. That could be it.

0 coins

This is exactly why I stopped doing fees out of refund. It ALWAYS adds like 2-3 days to the process because it has to go through their bank first.

I work at a credit union (not Navy Fed) and from my experience, the IRS deposits don't always match the exact date on your transcript. Sometimes we receive them in batches and it depends on when the Federal Reserve processes the ACH transfers. Don't worry too much yet.

0 coins

not with navy federal but i had a 4/8 deposit date and still havent recieved mine yet. Called the IRS and they said "sometimes it can take up to 21 days after the date on your transcript" which is complete BS. The whole system is a joke.

How did you even get through to a person at the IRS? I've been trying for days!

pure luck. called at exactly 7am when they opened and still waited an hour on hold. Most of the time I get the "call back later" message.

Try Claimyr next time. claimyr.com got me through on my first try after weeks of failed attempts. Talking to an IRS agent finally fixed my refund delay.

I just checked my transcript and I'm so confused by all these codes and dates. Does anyone know what these mean? I see a 570 code followed by a 971 and then a 846 with my DDD, but the amounts don't all match up? Is that normal?

0 coins

Esteban Tate

•

570 is usually a hold on your account, 971 means they sent you a notice, and 846 is your refund being issued. If they're all there with the 846 being the most recent, you should be good!

If you want to understand exactly what's happening with your transcript, use taxr.ai - it's like having a translator for all that IRS jargon. Saved me hours of googling and worrying! https://taxr.ai

The IRS is such a disaster this year. I filed in January and just got my refund last week. Called them multiple times and got different answers every time. It's like they have no idea what's happening in their own system.

0 coins

My DDD was 4/10 with USAA and it came exactly on that date, not early like usual. Seems like things are running differently this year for some reason. I'd give it until the end of this week before worrying.

Beth Ford

•

USAA used to always be 1-2 days early too! Wonder what changed this year?

0 coins

Double check you put the right account number on your tax return. Made that mistake once and had to wait for a paper check which took an extra 6 weeks 😭

0 coins

Just checked and my account number is correct on my return. So that's not the issue thankfully.

0 coins

Not Navy Federal but I'm with Chase and had a 4/15 date too. Nothing hit yet for me either. I think the IRS is just being slow this year.

Probably not what you want to hear, but my friend had a similar issue where the DDD came and went with nothing in her account. Turned out the IRS had some kind of issue and ended up sending a paper check instead. Took another month to arrive. might wanna call and check if thats happening to you.

This happened to me last year! The IRS computer system decided to send a check instead of direct deposit for no apparent reason. Such a waste of time.

God I hope that's not what's happening. I really need this money soon.

Had the WORST time trying to figure out my refund status last month. The transcript was so confusing and the WMR tool was useless. I used taxr.ai and it explained everything clearly - showed me exactly why my refund was delayed and what was happening. Found out I had an offset I didn't know about! Might help you understand your situation better.

I've seen this mentioned a few times - does it actually work better than just calling the IRS?

100% yes. Calling the IRS (if you can even get through) often results in vague answers. This tool actually breaks down your specific situation based on your transcript codes and dates. Wish I'd found it years ago!

My sister works for the IRS (not giving tax advice just sharing what I know). She says there's sometimes a 24-48 hour delay between when the IRS initiates the refund and when it actually gets to your bank. If today is your DDD, it could take till Wednesday or Thursday.

Call the tax advocate service at 1-877-777-4778. They can sometimes help speed things up if your refund is delayed past the DDD.

After trying for weeks to get through to the Taxpayer Advocate Service with no luck, I used claimyr.com to connect with an IRS agent directly. Got my issue resolved in one call!
