TWC deadline to call back keeps changing - now due TODAY and can't reach anyone!

I'm seriously panicking right now! There's a message on my TWC account homepage saying they need additional information from me. The weird thing is that originally it said I needed to contact them by the 9th, then I checked again and it had changed to the 6th. Now I logged in today and it's saying THE DEADLINE IS TODAY?! I've been calling the number in the message every single day for the past week (sometimes 15+ times a day), left a detailed voicemail yesterday with my name, claim ID and callback number, but nobody has returned my call. I'm afraid they're going to deny my benefits or make me pay something back if I don't reach them by this mysterious moving deadline. Has anyone dealt with this? Any suggestions on what else I can do besides just keep calling? I really need this money for rent next month.

Thanks for the suggestion. Did they tell you why the deadline date kept changing on the website? That's the part that's really freaking me out. Also, which workforce center did you go to and did you need an appointment?

This is a common issue with the TWC system right now. Those messages are auto-generated and the deadlines can glitch in the system. However, you should still try to contact them ASAP. Here are some tips: 1. Call right when they open at 7:00 AM 2. Try the alternate number 800-939-6631 instead of the main line 3. Check your correspondence inbox on the TWC portal - sometimes they send letters explaining what additional info they need 4. If you have a workforce center nearby, visiting in person is often faster than calling Also, take screenshots of the changing deadlines in case you need to prove you were attempting to comply with their requests. The most important thing is to document all your attempts to contact them.

Thank you for such detailed advice! I've been calling the main number listed in the message but I'll try the alternate one you mentioned. I've checked my correspondence inbox multiple times but there's nothing there explaining what they need from me - just the home page message. I'll definitely try calling at 7am tomorrow and take screenshots of everything.

Try sending a message through the contact/message center on the TWC website too. Sometimes they respond to those faster than phone calls. Just make sure to include your claim ID number and explain that you've been trying to reach them by phone with no success.

I sent a message through the portal 3 days ago and still nothing... starting to feel like they're deliberately ignoring me 😩

I went through something similar last month with the changing deadline notices. It's so frustrating! I spent DAYS trying to get through on the phone with no luck. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an agent. They have a system that holds your place in line and calls you when an agent is available. Saved me hours of redial hell. They have a demo video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Turned out all they needed was to verify my work search activities for one specific week that had been flagged in their system. The whole call took 5 minutes once I actually got through. So ridiculous!

does this claimyr thing actually work? seems like it would be illegal to jump the line somehow when everyones waiting

It doesn't jump the line - it just automates the calling process so you don't have to sit there manually redialing all day. You still wait your turn, but their system handles the calling part. Totally saved my sanity.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to try the 7am call first tomorrow but if that doesn't work I'll definitely check this out. At this point I'll try anything to reach a human being.

I work with TWC claimants regularly. Those messages about needing additional information typically relate to one of the following issues: 1. Employment separation verification - they need details about why you left your last job 2. Work search documentation - they're auditing your work search activities 3. Identity verification issues - especially if you recently set up ID.me 4. Wage verification - checking reported income from part-time work 5. Availability questions - making sure you're available for full-time work The changing deadline dates are a known system issue. However, you still need to respond to their request for information. If you can't reach them by phone, go to your local Workforce Solutions office in person as soon as possible. Bring ID, your TWC account information, and any documentation related to your claim. They can often resolve these issues on the spot. If you miss the deadline, don't panic. Document all of your attempts to contact them (screenshots, call logs, etc.). You can use this evidence if you need to appeal any adverse decision.

Thank you for breaking down what it might be about! I quit my last job because they reduced my hours by 70% so I'm thinking it might be the separation verification. I'll definitely document all my attempts to reach them. Going to try the 7am call tomorrow and then head to the workforce center if that doesn't work.

This EXACT same thing hapened to me!!! I was freaking out about the changing deadline too! Turns out it was just a glitch in there system. When I finally got thru they just needed to verify my identity again even tho I already did the ID.me thing. The whole system is such a mess. Keep trying different numbers and different times of day. mid-afternoon was when I finally got through.

The identity verification issues seem to be happening to a lot of people lately. I had to verify mine THREE separate times because their system kept glitching. Classic TWC inefficiency. 🙄

It's honestly such a relief to hear I'm not the only one dealing with this deadline glitch. The stress has been unreal!

UPDATE: Finally got through this morning! Called right at 7am like suggested and only had to wait 20 minutes. Turns out they just needed to verify my work search activities for two specific weeks. The agent said the changing deadline dates was definitely a system glitch and that I wasn't in danger of losing benefits. She noted my account showing I had been trying to contact them multiple times. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Great to hear! Make sure to keep detailed records of your work search activities going forward. They seem to be doing more random checks lately.

Definitely will! I'm keeping screenshots of everything now and created a spreadsheet with all my work search details.
