TWC Unemployment: Union Member Exempt from Work Search Not Receiving Payments, Trouble Reaching Support
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payments. I'm in a union and exempt from the work search requirement, but I'm still not getting paid. I've responded to all the messages in my inbox. Anyone else dealing with this? How long does it usually take to get through to someone on the phone?

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been trying to reach them for weeks now. It's like they're playing hide and seek with our money 🙄

Update: Still no luck getting through. This is getting ridiculous. How are we supposed to survive without our benefits?

Pro tip: if u get through, ask for a tier 2 specialist right away. The regular agents cant do much

Anyone else notice that ever since they "upgraded" their system, everything's been worse? 🤔 I miss the old website, at least it kinda worked

I'm in the same boat, OP. Union member, exempt from work search, and radio silence from EDD. It's been 2 months for me. This system is broken af.

Two months?! That's insane. I'm just starting my journey with them. Hopefully, it won't take me that long.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, messages, and responses. 2. Contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite claims. 3. Check your claim status online daily. Sometimes updates happen without notification. 4. If you're in a union, reach out to your union rep. They might have insider contacts. 5. Be persistent. Unfortunately, the squeaky wheel gets the grease in these situations. 6. Consider filing a formal complaint if it's been an unreasonable amount of time. Remember, you're entitled to these benefits. Don't give up!

I found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20 but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

Claimyr has helped some, but it's not a foolproof solution. It's a shame we have to resort to paid services.

To the OP, I understand your frustration and it's a situation many are finding themselves in. Claimyr is indeed a legitimate service and has been known to help some individuals cut through the red tape. However, it's unfortunate that anyone would need to resort to paying extra just to access a service they are entitled to. The unemployment system is under a lot of strain, but that doesn't lessen the impact on those waiting for their claims. Be sure to take the advised steps to document your communications and reach out to other channels like local representatives or union reps who might offer additional support. In the meantime, stay persistent, and keep trying. Exploring all avenues might eventually get the results you need.
