PA UC payment timeline after approval - how many days for direct deposit to hit?
Finally got some movement on my PA UC claim after being stuck in limbo for months! My claim was just approved after a review (showed 'under review' for weeks) and I'm wondering how long I should expect to wait before seeing the money in my bank account. I have direct deposit set up already. Feels like I've been waiting forever - had to contact my state rep after sitting with no updates for about 2 1/2 months! That seemed to break the logjam. Anyone know the typical timeframe from approval to payment hitting your account? Thanks for any insight!

For direct deposit, once your claim is fully approved, you should typically see the money in your account within 2-3 business days. Make sure your claim actually says 'approved' and not just 'review complete' since those are different statuses. Also double check that your banking info is correct in the system - I've seen people wait only to realize they had a typo in their account number.

•Thanks! It definitely says approved now. I'll keep an eye on my bank account over the next few days. Really hope it comes through quickly since I'm getting low on savings at this point.

Contacting your state rep was definitely the right move! The PA UC system is completely broken and understaffed. It's ridiculous we have to get politicians involved just to get what we're entitled to. For me, the money showed up about 3 business days after approval, BUT then I had another issue with back payments that took ANOTHER month to resolve. Be prepared to stay on top of everything because they make mistakes constantly.

Glad to hear your claim is moving forward! Here's what typically happens with PA UC payments: 1. Claim approved status 2. Payment issued (takes 24-48 hours after approval) 3. Bank processing time (usually 1-2 business days) So in total, expect 2-4 business days from approval to seeing the funds. If you don't see anything after 5 business days, call them to check if there's an issue. One important note: If you're owed multiple weeks of back pay, they might come in separate deposits over several days rather than all at once. Don't panic if you only see partial payment at first!

•Thank you for breaking it down like that! I am owed back pay for several weeks, so that's good to know they might come separately. I'll give it at least 5 business days before getting worried.

I was in the exact same situation last month - stuck for MONTHS then finally got approved after my wife emailed our state rep. I wasted so much time trying to call PA UC directly and never got through. Do you know about Claimyr? I wish I'd found it sooner - it's a service that helps you get through to an actual UC agent without waiting for hours. Just go to claimyr.com or check out their demo: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Using that service I finally got through to someone who could explain exactly what was happening with my payments. In my case, it took 3 business days for the first payment to hit my account, then they staggered the backpay over the next week.

•I hadn't heard of Claimyr before! I'll bookmark that in case I need to contact them again. The calling experience was absolutely horrible - I think I tried at least 20 times before giving up and contacting my rep.

•Yeah it worked for me. Basically gets you in the queue so you don't have to keep hitting redial and hoping to get through. Saved me a ton of frustration.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know my payment came through this morning! So that was about 3 business days after approval. Such a relief after months of waiting and worrying. Thanks for all the helpful info!

•That's great news! Glad it came through in a reasonable timeframe. Remember to keep filing your weekly claims on time even if you return to work before your benefit year ends - it makes things much easier if you need to reopen your claim later.

Anyone notice they always seem to process these things on Fridays? My theory is they don't want people calling with questions about deposits over the weekend lol

•I never thought about that but you might be right! They probably have some internal schedule we don't know about. Wouldn't put it past them to intentionally make the system confusing just to reduce call volume.

Congratulations on finally getting approved! I went through something similar last year - the waiting is absolutely brutal. Just wanted to add that if you're expecting backpay for multiple weeks, keep track of exactly how much you should receive total. I got my first payment quickly (about 2-3 days) but then realized they shorted me on the backpay amount. Had to call again to get the missing weeks sorted out. The good news is once you're in the system and approved, future weekly payments should be much more predictable. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you from here on out!
