PA UC payment deposited early this week - is this normal?
Just checked my account and my PA unemployment payment hit today instead of Tuesday which is when I normally get it. Not that I'm complaining about getting money faster! But has this happened to anyone else? Is it because of some holiday I'm forgetting about? Or should I be worried something's wrong with my claim? This is my 8th week on unemployment and the timing has been consistent until now.

This usually happens when there's a bank holiday coming up. Monday is Presidents' Day, so the UC system probably processed payments early. Your claim is fine - they just push payments out earlier when the regular deposit day would fall near a holiday.

•Omg I totally forgot about Presidents' Day! That makes perfect sense. Thanks for explaining - one less thing to stress about!

•Same here! I thought it was a mistake at first and they might try to take it back or something 😂

Mine came early too but last month they messed up and I didn't get paid for 3 weeks straight because of some "system issue" they never explained. I had to call like 50 times before someone fixed it. PA unemployment system is such a disaster.

•When that happened to me last year, I used Claimyr to get through to an actual human at UC. Saved me days of busy signals and getting hung up on. Their system connects you directly to a PA UC agent - you can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. The site is claimyr.com if anyone needs it. Worth every penny when you're desperate to talk to someone about missing payments.

The early payment thing is totally normal around holidays. But BE CAREFUL - make sure you're still filing your weekly claims on your regular schedule! The payment timing changing doesn't mean your filing schedule changes. I messed this up last year and missed a week because I thought everything had shifted.

•Omg this is such important advice!! I missed a week once because I got confused about when to file and it was SUCH a headache to fix. Had to do a backdated claim and wait extra weeks to get paid.

•Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely keep filing on Sundays like usual.

Anyone know if the UC office is closed on Monday too? I was planning to call about my work search requirement question since I have a potential job interview coming up.

•Yes, the UC service centers will be closed on Monday for the holiday. But good news - job interviews definitely count toward your work search activities! Make sure to document the employer name, date, and contact information for your records. Good luck with the interview!

my friend said early deposits happen when they're doing system upgrades too

•That's actually not correct. Early deposits only happen for banking holidays. System upgrades might cause delays, but never early payments. The PA Treasury follows a strict payment schedule except for holidays. Just wanted to clarify so nobody gets confused about their payment patterns!
