PA UC direct deposit timing - when will I get paid after filing on Sunday?
So I just filed my first PA unemployment claim this past Sunday and I'm trying to figure out when the money will actually hit my account. I set up direct deposit during my initial application but I'm not sure how long the whole process takes. Is it always the same number of days after filing? I need to budget for some bills coming up this week. Any help from people who've been through this already would be super appreciated!

For PA UC claims filed on Sunday with direct deposit, you'll typically receive payment within 2-3 business days. So if you filed on Sunday, expect payment by Tuesday or Wednesday. The first payment sometimes takes a bit longer if your claim still has any pending verification. Dont beleive that 2-3 day nonsense! My first payment took TWO WEEKS to come thru and I had direct deposit too. They make everyone wait for the first one. Had to call them 4 times and got nowhere until I finally got through to someone who fixed whatever was holding it up. The system is BROKEN!

That's not accurate. The standard processing time is 2-3 business days after filing your weekly certification IF your claim has no issues. Your payment was delayed because you likely had an open issue that needed resolution. First-time filers often have verification requirements that can cause delays, but that's not the same as a standard waiting period for everyone.

mine always comes on weds morning when i file on sunday. like clockwork unless there's a holiday

Same here - Wednesday morning deposit when I file Sunday night. Though occasionally it's been Tuesday late afternoon. Hasn't changed in the whole 6 months I've been on UC.

It's now Wednesday and I still don't see anything in my account. When I check the PA UC portal it says my payment was 'processed' yesterday but nothing has hit my bank yet. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

This is fairly normal. 'Processed' means they've sent the payment to your bank, but it can take another 1-2 business days for your bank to make the funds available. Different banks have different processing times. If you don't see it by Friday, then you might want to contact your bank to confirm they haven't received it.

My sister had the same thing happen last month and it turned out her bank account info was entered wrong. Have you double-checked all your banking details on the UC portal? Also sometimes they randomly put a hold on your first payment for "security reasons" whatever that means lol

If you need to call PA UC to check on your payment status, good luck getting through! I spent 3 days trying to reach someone last month and kept getting busy signals or disconnected. I finally tried a service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes. Yeah, they were actually helpful once I finally got connected. Turns out I had an 'open issue' that wasn't showing up on my dashboard for some reason. The agent cleared it right away and my payment came through the next day.

UPDATE: My payment finally hit my account this morning (Thursday)! Looks like it was just taking longer than I expected. For anyone else new to this - it took 4 days from Sunday filing to Thursday deposit for me. Thanks everyone for the help and advice!
