PA UC deposits on Saturday with Money Network card - does this happen?
Has anyone ever gotten their PA unemployment deposit on a Saturday to their Money Network card? I've always gotten mine on Tuesdays or Wednesdays before, but I'm in a real tough spot this week and wondering if there's any chance it might come tomorrow (Saturday). The rent is due Monday and I'm cutting it close. The website says my payment was processed yesterday but nothing in my account yet. Just trying to figure out if I should make other arrangements or if there's still hope for the weekend. Thanks!

In my experience, PA UC never deposits on weekends. The Money Network system processes payments only on business days. Even if your payment was processed Thursday in their system, it probably won't hit your card until Monday or Tuesday. I'd make other arrangements for your rent if possible.

•Ugh that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to call my landlord and see if he'll give me until Wednesday.

Hate to say it but NEVER once got a weekend deposit in 14 months on UC!!! The Money Network system is completely shut down for processing on weekends. Its stupid and outdated but thats how PA rolls. If u really need to check ur claim status you can try calling but goodluck getting thru on a friday!!!

•I actually managed to get through to UC last Friday using Claimyr.com! It connects you to an agent without the endless redial hassle. The video at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 shows how it works. Saved me hours of calling. My payment was stuck but they fixed it while I was on the phone.

wait i think i actually did get a deposit once on a Saturday??? but it was like during the pandemic when things were super weird so maybe that was different? i definitely remember being surprised when i checked my balance and the money was there on a weekend. but that was like a one-time thing out of like 8 months of claims

•This was likely during the emergency processing period in 2020-2021 when PA UC temporarily modified their processing schedule to handle the unprecedented volume. Since then, they've reverted to normal business day processing (Monday-Friday). The current Money Network system does not post deposits on weekends under normal circumstances.

I file biweekly and always get paid on Thursdays like clockwork. I've never once had a deposit hit on a weekend in 2 years. My sister's boyfriend says he got one on a Sunday once but I think he's confusing that with direct deposit to his regular bank account not the UC card.

•My deposits are always Tuesday. Never once saw weekend activity. Good luck with your landlord situation, that's stressful.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I called my landlord and explained the situation. He's giving me until Wednesday without a late fee since I've always been on time before. I appreciate all the input!

•That's great to hear! For future reference, PA UC typically follows this deposit schedule: - If you file on Sunday: deposits Tuesday-Wednesday - If you file on Monday: deposits Wednesday-Thursday - Biweekly filers: typically see deposits on their established pattern The Money Network card system used by PA UC operates on banking business days only. Payments processed on Friday will generally post on Monday, barring holidays.

Off topic but anybody know if Pennsylvania is keeping the work search requirements at 2 activities per week? I heard a rumor they might increase it to 3 but couldn't find anything on the UC website about changes for 2025.

•The work search requirement remains at 2 verifiable work search activities per week through 2025. There was discussion about increasing it last year, but the proposal wasn't implemented. Always document your work search activities carefully - many claims get flagged for audit on this requirement.

I've been on PA UC for about 6 months now and can confirm - never once got a weekend deposit on my Money Network card. The system is pretty rigid about business days only. Your best bet is always to plan for Tuesday/Wednesday deposits if you file on Sunday/Monday. It's frustrating when you're in a tight spot like this, but at least your landlord is being understanding! That's honestly the best outcome you could hope for in this situation.
