Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.
I went through this exact same situation about 3 months ago! The online system was completely useless for me - kept getting error messages. What finally worked was calling the main UC line at 8:00 AM sharp when they open. I got through after about an hour on hold (which honestly isn't too bad compared to some horror stories I've heard). The rep was actually pretty helpful and changed my payment method right there on the call. Make sure you have your claim number, SSN, and new bank account/routing info ready. They'll give you a confirmation number - write that down! The change took about 3-5 business days to show up in my account. Hang in there, it's frustrating but definitely doable!
Just checking back - did your payment come through today? Monday morning is when most people see their deposits hit after Thursday/Friday payment dates.
Awesome news that your payment finally came through! This gives me hope - I'm in a similar situation where I won my appeal last week and have been anxiously waiting for the deposit. The timeline you experienced (about 4-5 business days) seems pretty typical based on what others are saying here. It's such a stressful process but glad to see it worked out for you in the end. Now you can breathe easy and get that rent paid! 😊
Yes, you need to complete and document work search activities starting with your first week. When you file your weekly certification, you'll be asked if you completed the required activities. You need to keep records of your work search (job applications, networking events, etc.) in case you're selected for an audit. The PA UC system allows you to enter these directly into your dashboard, which I highly recommend doing rather than just keeping separate notes. If your claim gets stuck with an "open issue" status for more than 2 weeks, definitely try to reach a live agent. The chat feature on the PA UC website sometimes works, but phone is usually more effective for resolving complex issues.
One more tip that saved me a lot of headaches - screenshot everything! Take screenshots of your initial application confirmation, weekly certifications, and any correspondence. I had an issue where the system showed I missed a week when I definitely filed, and having that screenshot proof helped resolve it quickly when I finally got through to an agent. Also, if you're doing contract work, make sure you understand how to report any freelance income you might pick up while collecting - even small amounts need to be reported or it can cause overpayment issues later.

One last tip that might save you some time: take screenshots of the error message and have your ID ready when you do reach someone. They'll need to verify your identity before they can fix anything in the system. I'd also recommend preparing a list of all previous employers from the last 18 months with correct start/end dates, as they might ask for this information while they have you on the phone.

•Great suggestion about the screenshots and having my employment info ready! I'll definitely do that.

UPDATE: Finally got this resolved! For anyone who might face this issue in the future - the problem was that my previous employer had somehow entered my birth month and day switched around in their records (put 05/11 instead of 11/05). The UC agent was able to override the error and update my information correctly in the system. My application is now processing! Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions.

•So glad you got it figured out! That's such a weird error - who would think to check if the employer switched your birth month and day around? Thanks for posting the update, this will definitely help other people who run into the same problem. Congrats on getting your application moving forward!
