New York Unemployment login not working on mobile - any fixes?
The unemployment website won't let me login from my phone at all. Tried multiple times, different browsers, clearing cache, everything. Really frustrating since I'm not always near a computer. Anyone found a way to make the mobile login work?

Hey! I found a workaround - use claimyr.com when you need to contact them about login issues. They'll call and wait on hold for you, then connect you to an agent. Costs $20 but saved me hours of frustration. Check out their demo: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% legit, used it twice already. Better than spending all day trying to get through

Here's what worked for me: 1. Clear ALL browser data 2. Use Chrome (Safari doesn't work well) 3. Make sure you're on good wifi 4. Try early morning or late night when traffic is low 5. If nothing works, use claimyr.com to reach an agent The mobile site is definitely not optimized but these steps helped me get through. The system is ancient and they really need to upgrade it. Good luck!

Had this exact same issue last month! What finally worked for me was switching to Firefox mobile and enabling "Request Desktop Site" in the settings. The mobile version is completely broken but the desktop version loaded on mobile actually works. Takes a bit longer to load but at least you can get through the login process. Hope this helps!

I've been struggling with this too! What finally worked for me was using the "Request Desktop Site" option in my mobile browser settings. The mobile version is completely broken but when you force it to load the desktop version on your phone, it usually works. Takes longer to load and the interface is tiny but at least you can get logged in. Also try using mobile data instead of wifi sometimes - seems like their servers handle different connection types differently. The whole system is a mess but these workarounds have saved me multiple trips to the library just to certify!

Ugh I feel your pain! Been dealing with this for months now. What's crazy is that the NY unemployment site works perfectly fine on desktop but completely falls apart on mobile. I've tried everything - different browsers, clearing cache, incognito mode, you name it. The login page just hangs or gives me error messages. It's so frustrating when you're trying to certify your weekly benefits and you're stuck somewhere without a computer. Really hoping they finally fix this mobile disaster soon because it's 2025 and basic mobile functionality shouldn't be this hard! 😤

•I totally get the frustration! Same thing happened to me for weeks. What ended up working was using Chrome mobile with "Request Desktop Site" enabled and making sure I had a strong wifi connection. The mobile site is absolutely broken but forcing desktop mode usually gets you through. Also try logging in during off-peak hours like early morning - seems like their servers can't handle the load during busy times. It's ridiculous we have to jump through all these hoops just to access basic services!

I've been having the exact same problem! What finally worked for me was using Edge mobile browser with desktop mode enabled. Also, make sure to log out completely from any other devices first - I think their system gets confused when you're logged in multiple places. The trick is to clear your mobile browser cache, restart the browser completely, then go to the site and immediately switch to desktop mode before trying to log in. It's a pain but beats having to find a computer every week just to certify. Hope the state fixes this ancient system soon! 🤞

•Thanks for the Edge tip! I've been using Chrome but maybe Edge handles their ancient system better. The multiple device logout thing makes total sense - probably why I keep getting those weird session errors. Gonna try this combo tonight when I certify. It's wild that we all have to become IT specialists just to file for unemployment benefits lol 😅

I've been battling this mobile login issue for weeks now! What finally got me through was using Samsung Internet browser with desktop mode turned on. The key is to enable desktop mode BEFORE navigating to the unemployment site - if you try to switch after the page loads, it still shows the broken mobile version. Also found that turning off any ad blockers helps since their ancient site seems to break with modern browser extensions. It's absolutely ridiculous that in 2025 we need these elaborate workarounds just to access basic government services, but at least this combo has been working consistently for me. The whole experience makes you appreciate how broken their IT infrastructure really is! 🙄

•Samsung Internet worked for me too! The trick about enabling desktop mode BEFORE going to the site is clutch - I was doing it backwards this whole time. Also had no idea ad blockers could mess with their system but that makes sense given how outdated everything is. Thanks for sharing this combo, finally got through after being stuck for days! 🙌

Just wanted to add my experience here - I had the same mobile login nightmare for about a month! What finally worked for me was using Firefox mobile with these specific steps: 1) Clear all site data for labor.ny.gov, 2) Enable desktop mode in Firefox settings, 3) Turn off any VPN if you're using one, 4) Make sure you're on a stable connection, and 5) Try logging in during early morning hours (like 6-7 AM) when server load is lighter. The mobile site is absolutely broken but this combo has been working consistently for me for the past few weeks. Also pro tip - bookmark the direct login page once you get in because navigating through their homepage on mobile is another nightmare entirely! Hope this helps someone avoid the frustration I went through 🤞

•This is super detailed, thanks! The VPN tip is really helpful - I never thought about that potentially causing issues with their system. The early morning login timing makes so much sense too since everyone's probably trying to certify at the same times. Bookmarking the direct login page is genius, their homepage navigation is definitely another layer of pain on mobile. Gonna try the Firefox combo with these exact steps tomorrow morning. Really appreciate you laying out the whole process step by step! 🙏

•The Firefox + desktop mode combo has been a lifesaver! Just wanted to add that if you're still having issues even with these steps, try switching your user agent to desktop in Firefox developer settings. Sometimes their site still detects mobile even in desktop mode. Also clearing cookies specifically for *.ny.gov domains (not just labor.ny.gov) helped me avoid some weird redirect loops. It's crazy we need to be web developers just to file for benefits but hey, whatever works! 😂

Been dealing with this exact same issue! What worked for me was using Opera mobile browser with desktop mode enabled. The key is to also disable JavaScript temporarily while logging in - I know it sounds counterintuitive but their mobile login form seems to have JS conflicts. Once you're logged in, you can re-enable it for the rest of the site to work properly. Also try using 4G/5G instead of WiFi - their servers seem to handle mobile data connections better for some reason. It's absolutely insane that we need these workarounds just to access unemployment benefits, but this combo has been solid for me for the past month. Really hoping NY finally updates this ancient system soon! 🤞

•Wow, the JavaScript disable trick is brilliant! Never would have thought of that but it makes total sense given how broken their mobile scripts probably are. I've been struggling with WiFi vs mobile data and you're totally right - 4G seems way more reliable for their system. Opera is another great suggestion too, seems like the less mainstream browsers handle their ancient code better. Thanks for sharing this combo, gonna try it next time I need to certify! It really is wild that we've all become amateur web developers just to access basic government services 😅

I've been fighting this same battle for weeks! What finally got me through consistently was using Brave browser on mobile with these settings: 1) Enable desktop mode first, 2) Turn off all shields/ad blocking for the NY labor site, 3) Clear site data completely, 4) Use incognito/private mode, and 5) Try during off-peak hours (I've had best luck around 10-11 PM). The combination of desktop mode + no ad blocking seems to be the magic formula - their ancient site apparently breaks with any modern privacy features enabled. Also discovered that if you get stuck on the login page, don't refresh - just close the tab completely and start over. It's ridiculous that we need a PhD in browser troubleshooting just to file for unemployment in 2025, but this method has worked for me about 90% of the time. Hope it helps someone else avoid the endless frustration! 🙏

•Brave browser is such a good call! The shields/ad blocking tip is super important - I was leaving mine on and wondering why nothing worked. The incognito mode suggestion makes total sense too since it starts with a completely clean slate. 10-11 PM timing is clutch, way less server congestion than during the day. Thanks for breaking down the exact steps, this is way more reliable than the random trial and error I've been doing. It's honestly embarrassing for NY that we all need to be browser experts just to access basic services but your method sounds like the most consistent one yet! 🙌

I was having the exact same mobile login nightmare until last week! Here's what finally worked for me after trying everything: Use DuckDuckGo mobile browser with desktop mode enabled. The trick is to also disable location services specifically for the browser while logging in - apparently their system has some weird geolocation conflicts on mobile. Also try switching your phone to airplane mode for 10 seconds, then back on to reset your connection before attempting login. I know it sounds random but it's been working consistently for me! The whole NY unemployment mobile experience is absolutely broken but at least this gets you through the login. Really hope they modernize this ancient system soon because these workarounds are getting ridiculous! 😤
