Need help backdating UI claim to Aug 1st after having a baby - tips for calling NYDOL?
Hey everyone, I need some advice. I've been trying to get my unemployment benefits backdated to August 1st. I had a baby right after losing my job and it took me a while to get everything sorted out. I called and they told me to fill out the online form and then call back to have it backdated. Has anyone gone through this process? Any tips on what to say or do when I call back? I'm worried they might deny my request because it's been a few months.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE
