NYDOL: Entered wrong code, need to re-enter. How to fix?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I entered the wrong code last time and now I need to re-enter it. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm in New York and really need to get this sorted out. Any advice on how to fix this or get through to someone at NYDOL?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The NYDOL system is such a nightmare to navigate. Have you tried calling their helpline? It's usually a long wait, but it might be your best bet to get this fixed.

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of waiting last week.

30 mins? You got lucky! I was on hold for 3 hours yesterday and still didn't get to talk to anyone 🤬

I had a similar issue last month. What worked for me was logging into my account online and looking for an option to update or correct information. It might be under a tab like 'Claim Details' or 'Update Information'. Worth a shot!

Have you tried reaching out to them on Twitter? Sometimes they respond faster there. Just be careful not to share any personal info publicly.

That's a good idea, I'll give it a try. Thanks!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your NYDOL account 2. Go to the 'Claim Status' section 3. Look for an option like 'Update Claim Information' or 'Correct Errors' 4. If you can't find it, try the 'Contact Us' page and submit a request explaining your situation 5. Keep calling their helpline - try different times of day 6. If all else fails, consider reaching out to your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things through Remember, don't give up! It's frustrating, but persistence pays off with these bureaucratic systems. Good luck!

This is great advice. I'd add that keeping a log of all your attempts to contact them can be helpful if you need to escalate the issue later.

For real. I've been dealing with NYDOL issues for months now. It's a full-time job just trying to get your benefits 🙄

Have you checked if there are any NYDOL offices open for in-person visits? Sometimes face-to-face is the best way to get these things sorted out.

I didn't even think of that! I'll look into it, thanks for the suggestion.
