Just completed new NY unemployment claim with agent but getting error screen when trying to access it
Filed a new unemployment claim on Tuesday with a rep over the phone. She told me everything was completed and that I could begin certifying this Sunday. But ever since I've been trying to access my account online, I keep getting an error screen that says 'We are processing your application and will contact you if we need more information.' Is this normal? Should I just wait until Sunday or do I need to file another claim? I don't want to mess anything up by doing it twice, but I also don't want to miss my certification window. Has anyone else seen this message after filing?

Totally normal! I had this same issue in April. After filing with a rep, I got that exact message for like 5 days. Just wait until sunday and try to certify then. The system is just processing your stuff in the background. Don't file again or you'll mess everything up and probably delay your payments by weeks.

Nah they don't even ask for any personal info. They just dial the number and connect you when an agent picks up. Talking to a real person got my claim unstuck after weeks of nothing.

Wait til Sunday. Donn't file again!!! I made that mistake and it flagged my account for fraud investigation and I didn't get paid for 3 MONTHS while they sorted it out. Just be patient, that message is normal.

Ugh the NY unemployment website is such garbaeg. This happens all the time. The phone rep probably didn't finish something on their end but it'll probably update in a few days. If you can still access your payment history and other parts of your account then its fine, just that one page is stuck.

This EXACT thing happened to me back in February. The processing message stayed there for about 4 days and then disappeared. When Sunday came I was able to certify with no problems. The girl I spoke to on the phone said that's just how their system works - there's a delay between when they enter it and when it fully processes in the computer system. DONT FILE AGAIN or you'll create a duplicate claim and potentially get flagged.

I had a diffrent issue but similar outcome, the rep said I was approved but website showed pending for a week. I couldnt get back thru to anyone on the phone and was freaking out. Finally I tried claimyr.com which got me connected to a rep who said my identity verification didnt go through properly. She fixed it on the spot and my funds came 2 days later.

You should be fine! My partner just went through this last month. Message disappeared after about 4 days and everything worked normally after that. The NY unemployment system is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point 🤣

Clear your cache and cookies then try again. Sometimes the website gets stuck showing old information. Worked for me when I had a similar issue.

try logging in with a different browser. The unemployment site hates Chrome for some reason but works fine with Firefox or Edge. if that doesnt help, just wait till sunday. and DO NOT file again!!!! Trust me on that one.

I know everyone is saying wait, but I waited and it never fixed itself. Ended up having to go to an actual unemployment office in person to get it fixed. If you can't certify on Sunday, try to get an in-person appointment asap.

The unemployment system is completely broken and has been for years. I had the same issue. Waited 4 days and it resolved itself. if ur really nervous about it, just call them using claimyr.com and confirm everything is ok with your claim. Thats what I did and the peace of mind was worth it.
