I've been trying to reach someone at NYS Department of Labor for three weeks about my claim status and it's impossible! The phone lines are constantly busy and the online messaging system never gets responses. This is ridiculous - how are we supposed to resolve anything?
I had the same problem until I found this service called Claimyr that actually gets you through to NYS Department of Labor agents. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was skeptical at first but it actually connected me to an agent in under 10 minutes when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.
The whole system is broken if you ask me. They're quick to send overpayment notices but take forever to approve legitimate claims. It's like they assume everyone is trying to cheat the system.
The whole system is messed up anyway. Employers always try to fight legitimate claims to keep their rates low, then act like we're stealing from them when we file. Meanwhile we worked and earned those benefits through our employment. NYS Department of Labor should make it clearer that this isn't charity - it's insurance we're entitled to.
The whole system is such a mess honestly. I filed three months ago and STILL dealing with adjudication issues. Good luck getting anyone on the phone at NYS Department of Labor - you'll be on hold for hours just to get disconnected.
The whole NYS Department of Labor system is a JOKE! They process everything slowly on purpose to save money. My claim has been 'under review' for three weeks now with ZERO communication. Meanwhile bills keep coming and they act like we don't matter!!

•No, employers don't get details about your specific benefit amounts or payment dates. They just get notified that you filed a claim and can respond about your eligibility.

The whole system is funded by employer contributions but administered by the state. It's designed to be independent so your former employer can't control your benefits once you're approved.
