check ur mail too. sometimes they send letters asking for more info but dont update the online stuff
Has anyone tried going to their local IRS office in person? I'm wondering if that would be faster than calling? This is so stressful!
In-person visits require appointments, and they're typically booked weeks in advance. Also, the representatives at local offices often don't have any more access to accelerate processing than phone representatives do. They're most helpful for complex issues or when you need to submit documents in person. For a return that's simply still processing, an in-person visit likely won't speed things up.
make sure u keep checking ur payment history in the next few days. sometimes they say it's fixed but then u need to follow up again. happened to my cousin
I'm so confused about all this… if I try calling from another phone will they still have my information? Do I need to give them my social security number again? What if they say they can't find my claim? I'm so stressed about making it worse somehow.
Don't worry - using a different phone number only affects how quickly you get through the queue. Once you're connected with a representative, they'll ask for your identifying information (SSN, name, DOB) just like normal. Your claim information will all be there in their system. The phone number is just to get past the initial connection hurdle.
i tried this morning with my roommates phone and got thru in 15 MINUTES!!! after trying my own phone for days!!! this should be pinned somewhere seriously
Update: My benefits finally came through! It took 17 days total from when I filed. Based on comments here, I tried both Claimyr to reach an agent (worked surprisingly well) and also contacted my state assembly member's office. Not sure which one did the trick, but I got a call yesterday saying my claim was approved and this morning all my back benefits were in my account! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions during this stressful time.

If you do manage to speak with a representative, make sure you have these things ready: 1. Your NY.gov username and password 2. Social Security Number 3. The exact dates of all claims you filed 4. Any documentation of part-time work during your claim period 5. The claim ID numbers if you have them 6. A copy of the letter saying you're eligible for $6,100 This will save time and make sure they can actually help you in one call. Based on what you've described, it sounds like you may have had a break in claim that's now been resolved, but the payment mechanism is still on hold.

•This is really helpful, thank you! I'll gather all of this info before I start calling on Tuesday. The letter has a claim ID that starts with T-25 which is different from my usual claim number, if that means anything to anyone?

•A T-25 prefix typically indicates a determination for a specific issue rather than your regular claim. This actually confirms my suspicion that there was a hold on your account that has now been resolved. The $6,100 letter is likely a formal determination that you're eligible for those back weeks. Once you speak with an agent, they should be able to release those funds.

Update us if you get through! I'm having similar issues right now and could use the tips. The whole system is such a mess this year.
