EBT Card showing balance but can't withdraw at any ATM - Technical Error [Help]
Hey everyone, I'm having a weird issue with my benefits card. I can see my available balance in the cardholder portal, but when I try to withdraw cash at any ATM, I keep getting a technical error. I've tried multiple banks and ATMs, but no luck. It's been like this for a few days now. Anyone else experiencing this or know what might be going on?

Ugh, that sucks! Have you tried calling the customer service number on the back of your card? Sometimes they can fix these issues on their end.

•Yeah, I tried that but the wait times are insane. Been on hold for hours and still no luck getting through 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. Usually shorter wait times then!

This happened to me last month! Turns out there was a system-wide glitch affecting a bunch of cardholders. It took them about a week to fix it, but eventually it started working again without me having to do anything.

Have you checked if theres any maintenance or updates scheduled for the system? Sometimes they do these things and forget to tell us 🙄

•I didn't even think of that! Where would I find that info?

•Usually on their website or social media pages. Worth a look!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/4RyuKFckT6k

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration!

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

This is why I always keep some cash on hand. The system is so unreliable sometimes 🤦♂️

•Same here. Can't trust technology 100% of the time.

Here's what I know about these technical issues from my experience working in IT: 1. Often, it's a communication problem between the ATM network and the benefits system. 2. Sometimes it's caused by security measures kicking in if there have been multiple failed attempts. 3. In rare cases, it could be an issue with your individual card. What you can try: - Use your card for a small purchase at a store to see if it works there. - If possible, log into your online account and check for any alerts or messages. - Try setting a new PIN through the online portal if that's an option. - As a last resort, you might need to request a replacement card. If none of these work, definitely keep trying to reach customer service. They can see more details on their end about what's causing the problem.

I had this exact same issue a few months ago! What worked for me was going to a grocery store and doing a cash back transaction instead of using an ATM. For some reason, the point-of-sale systems work even when the ATM network is having problems. You can buy something small like gum and get cash back - saved me when I really needed access to my benefits. Hope this helps until you can get through to customer service!
