Will USPS forward IRS refund check to new address or return to sender?
My tax refund is supposed to be coming by mail but I've been using USPS mail forwarding for about 10 months now. Really worried about if they'll actually forward my refund check or if it gets sent back to IRS. Been waiting 5 months already for this refund and I cant take the stress anymore.

IRS refund checks are usually marked as 'RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED' which means USPS won't forward them - they'll go back to the IRS. You need to update your address directly with the IRS using Form 8822 asap.

•Usually takes 4-6 weeks for IRS to process the address change. But better to do it now than wait longer!

Hey! Instead of stressing over this, I'd suggest using taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening with your refund, including address issues. It costs $4.99 but saved me weeks of anxiety. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

•Yeah it's legit! It uses AI to read your transcript and breaks everything down. Tells you exact dates, flags any issues, and gives step-by-step instructions to fix problems. Way better than trying to decode it yourself.

Have you tried checking your refund status on the IRS website first? The "Where's My Refund" tool will tell you if there's an address issue before your check even gets mailed. If it shows your old address, you'll know for sure you need to update it. Also, some people have luck calling the refund hotline at 1-800-829-1954 - they can sometimes update your address faster than the form.

•This is super helpful advice! I didn't even think to check the Where's My Refund tool first. Just checked and it still shows my old address 😬 Definitely calling that hotline tomorrow morning. Thanks for the tip!
