What does IRS Form 1040 code mean on transcript? Need help understanding

Just got my transcript and I see Form 1040 all over it. Anyone know what this actually means? First time doing my own taxes and im super confused.

Form 1040 is the standard U.S. Individual Income Tax Return that most taxpayers use to file their annual tax return with the IRS. It's where you report your income, claim deductions and credits, and calculate your tax liability or refund. Think of it as the main paperwork for your taxes.

is it legit? seems kinda sketchy putting tax docs online 🤔

totally get the concern! but yeah its legit. they use bank-level security and dont store your docs. just analyzes them and gives you the breakdown

There are different versions too - 1040-SR for seniors, 1040-NR for non-residents. But regular 1040 is what most people use

didnt know there were different types! thx for explaining

Pro tip: keep copies of your 1040s for at least 3 years. IRS can audit you within that timeframe

make that 7 years to be extra safe tbh
