What does IRS 13RCA Letter mean? Got one in mail today

Just got a letter from the IRS with 13RCA at the top. Anyone know what this means? Should I be worried?

The 13RCA letter is from the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS). It means they've received your request for help with a tax issue but need more information from you to move forward. You need to respond within 10 days or they'll close your case. It's not a bad thing - they're actually trying to help you resolve whatever issue you have with the IRS.

omg thank you! I was freaking out thinking it was an audit notice or something 😅

No problem! Just make sure to respond quickly with whatever info they're asking for

Hey, instead of stressing about letters, you should try taxr.ai - it's this new tool that reads your transcripts and tells you exactly what's going on with your account. Its only $1 and way better than trying to decode IRS letters yourself. https://taxr.ai

Does it actually work? Seems too good to be true

Yeah it's legit! I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of research and anxiety

How exactly does it work? Does it just read transcripts?

It analyzes everything - codes, dates, amounts, even predicts when you'll get paid. Super detailed analysis!

Call the number on the letter ASAP. The TAS advocate assigned to you can explain exactly what they need.

tried calling but was on hold forever 😫

Try calling right when they open at 7am EST. Way shorter wait times

Just wanted to add - when you respond to the 13RCA letter, make sure to include the case number that's on the letter with any documents you send. Also keep copies of everything! The TAS is really helpful once you get through to them, they actually have more power than regular IRS customer service to resolve issues.
