Need help understanding mystery IRS letter - can anyone decode this?
I just got a letter from the IRS in the mail and I have no idea what it means. I've never gotten anything like this before. Can someone help me understand what this could be about? I'm kinda nervous to open it tbh. Has anyone gotten something similar and knows what it might be?

Without seeing the actual letter or at least knowing the notice number (usually in top right corner), it's impossible to tell you exactly what it is. Open it - the IRS sends millions of different types of notices for various reasons from simple information requests to audit notices. The sooner you know what it is, the sooner you can address it.

Could be anything from a CP2000 to a simple verification letter. Don't panic until u actually read it
