WMR Tool Suddenly Says I Have Wrong Information - Was Working Fine Before!
I can't use the wmr all of a sudden š¤¦š½āāļø Is anyone else having this problem? What does this mean? It's saying I have the wrong information but it's been working fine since it was accepted. I've been checking it DAILY for the past 3 weeks and now THIS?! I'm literally panicking right now because my tax situation is complicated this year with investment income and I was counting on tracking my refund. WHY does the IRS make everything so difficult?! š¤

Have you tried logging in through the IRS website directly instead of the WMR tool? Sometimes the main account access works when the standalone tool doesn't. Also, are you using the exact same information as before? Even a slight difference in how you enter your filing status or refund amount could cause this error.

This happens a lot. IRS systems get overloaded. Don't panic. Try again tomorrow. I've seen this before. It's usually temporary. I had this EXACT same issue last week and it was so frustrating! ⢠First it worked fine for 2 weeks straight ⢠Then suddenly got the "wrong info" message ⢠Tried different browsers - same error ⢠Called IRS - couldn't get through ⢠Checked again 3 days later - suddenly working again No explanation, no changes to my info. OMG this happened to me TOO! š« I was freaking out because I need my refund ASAP for some medical bills! tbh this happens every yr during peak season. IRS systems r ancient and can't handle the traffic. nbd usually - just wait a few days and try again. ppl freak out but 99% of the time ur return is still processing fine even if u can't see the status. WMR is just a frontend interface that sometimes disconnects from the main database. chill and check again tmrw.
