IRS "Information Doesn't Match" Error After January 17th Federal Return Acceptance - WMR Now Rejecting My Verified Information

I filed my return and got accepted on January 17th. Been checking WMR daily but still showing as processing. Transcripts still N/A. I triple checked all my info is correct - W2s, social, dependents, everything. Starting to worry something's wrong. Today I tried checking again on the IRS website at sa.www4.irs.gov through the Refund Status tool, and now I'm getting an error message saying "The information you entered doesn't match our records" with a warning icon. It says "Please double-check your information and try again." The website mentions I can "view our frequently asked questions for help with common issues, such as finding your exact refund amount, verifying that your tax return was accepted, and typical processing times." I'm positive I entered everything correctly on the "Get Refund Status" page where it asks for Social Security Number, Tax Year, Filing Status, and Refund Amount as shown on my tax return. I've triple-checked these details against my return. Has this happened to anyone else who filed around January 17th? First it was just "processing" for weeks, now suddenly my information "doesn't match" their records? I'm really getting concerned that something's wrong with my return or that it got flagged somehow. How long should I wait before panicking or calling the IRS directly? This is stressing me out!

Tax expert here - don't panic yet. The IRS is still processing early returns. Many 2023 returns won't start processing until mid-February. Keep in mind PATH Act delays some refunds with certain credits until at least mid-February. Check your transcript weekly rather than daily - that's where you'll see real movement first.

Wait at least 21 days before calling. They literally can't tell you anything before then anyway 🤷‍♂️

I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund and it's been a game changer. For $4.99 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than playing detective with WMR tbh. Here's the link if anyone wants to try: https://taxr.ai

100% works. It caught a potential delay on mine I wouldn't have noticed and told me exactly what to do. Best 5 bucks I've spent this tax season fr fr

How exactly does it work? Does it just read transcripts or what

It uses AI to analyze everything - codes, dates, amounts. Then gives you a timeline and explains any issues in normal english. Even tells you what forms to file if theres a problem 💯
